Curious about Pillar of Eternity II funding goal 4.5 Million Ship Crew managing

I was looking at the funding and I noticed that it said it was the next stretch goal but the total was over 4.5  . Does that mean Pillar of Eternity II will have managing a crew or not? Just curious

<shrug> I think it looks quite promising.

The crew management bit is the best part of the ship minigame as it currently stands. IMO, obviously.

Define a "sidegame". Ship is your primary source of transportation and you are the captain. Unlike Gwent or pod racing&Pazak it makes perfect sense considering the setting.

I don't think it's strange at all. This game is from Obsidian, which has Chris Avellone as a shareholder (or however it's called these days) and Chris Avellone did writing for a game called FTL (Advanced Edition). Coincidence? I think not!

 

And this ship/crew management stuff is straight out of FTL.

But from the feedback I've read on here it sounds like a complete hassle.

I am really looking forward to crew management. I have a feeling I will spend a great deal of time trying to improve my crew and ship and hope the tools are there for me to do it, which I expect they will be. My one big wish would be to allow a proficiency slot be spent to make companions into crew, but that seems unlikely at this point.
