Valhall - Heading for Mars

Freakin amazing.

There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.

Also I love this Sunn O))) - Trane mashup:

Dude, that's awesome.

I'm missing the metal pics from the first page. That was a nice combination, so here is a picture of cast iron panties:

Also some music, as that what this thread is about.

Something new:

Something old:

Something borrowed:

Left out the "something blue" part that I intended to do, cause I couldn't come up with anything else then Blue Oyster Cult, which was already posted.

Death - Altering The Future

There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.

Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. Mencken

Blaze gets a lot of flack, but he can sing well for what suits him.  The Trooper....does not.

Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

He was in an impossible situation anyway. I'm not even sure it is possible to replace an iconic lead vocalist, especially one of a caliber like Bruce Dickinson, without the new guy getting a lot of flack. Regardless of whether it is justified or not.

Part of the problem is also that the next album almost invariably ends up being a degenerated hybrid where the songs feel as if the vocalist doesn't fit, especially if most of the album was finished prior to the vocalists departure - say hello to Iced Earth's The Glorious Burden, where the only good songs were on the bonus disc that were specifically written with The Ripper in mind or Nightwish's Dark Passion Play.

Kamelot is a weird case as they managed to find a replacement that pretty much sounds like the original.

No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.

I do like Maiden's X Factor album and I think Blaze did a good job with the vocals there, maybe darker, more pessimistic songs fit his style. The Virtual, XI on the other hand, is the worst Maiden album. There's not a single song there I like and the singing feels lazy. Futureal and Clansman are kinda okayish though, but it's still a horrible album.

This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.

Gah, wrong thread.

I think with Deathspell Omega, Antaeus, Blut Aus Nord, and this I'm more likely to associate Black Metal with France than Scandinavia.

“Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.”

"The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete."
