Is Fig the only method to back the game?

 There isn't right now, but there probably will be. For the first game, after the kickstarter ended, it was possible to back the game via paypal at all of the same tiers that appeared on the kickstarter.

I don't understand why fig doesn't accept paypal as a payment method. It seems kinda backwards for a website not to accept it at this point.

If I can scrounge up some shekels, I'll throw them at Obsidian, but I'm going to wait for later in the month to see if I have a rich uncle die or some such.  Kind of hard since I haven't talked to any of my uncles in years, but I can always hope.  Meanwhile, I guess I don't mind using the credit card.  I have one just for online purchases anyhow.  Either that or I'll send over a promissory note or maybe a couple hundred bucks of pennies packaged in hello kitty boxes or something.

I would guess that it is because of fees that PayPal asks

It's not like other payment providers are free... Now Paypal's tendency to not ask too many questions before allowing chargebacks hasn't exactly made it popular with sellers. I know quite a few people that got burnt that way and now avoid it like the plague when trying to sell anything. Wouldn't be surprised if that factors into it...

 

That said, I'd have preferred if I didn't have to use a credit card.

It seems a bit strange to call Fig shady and then want to use Paypal, which is the method of transaction of choice for virtually everything that's a bit shady (at least in my experience).
