Keep in mind though that Blunderbuss doesn't play nice with Backstab, so in terms of max. damage that needs to be taken into account as well. Inherently it will also indeed count as (at most) six different crits, since they're rolled independently.

I forgot about the chant giving 30%dmg vs beasts - that puts beasts on the top of the list for the highest single target damage. Here are all the bonuses you can have:

55% legendary enchantment

25% slaying (beast) enchantment

25% beast slayer

10% drake's den resting bonus

30% chant

10% ranged damage (cloak of the frozen hunt)

20% death's usher

20% survival flanking bonus

10% item flanking bonus

10% blessing

84% might bonus

50% sneak attack

100% deathblows

150% backstab

50% finishing blow

150% critical (20%base+30%durgan+30%merciless hand+10%dungeon delver+50%bloody slaughter+10%rabbit fur gloves)

30% burning lash multiplicative bonus (with scion of flame)

30% burning lash multiplicative bonus from chant (with scion of flame)

250% multiplicative bonus from finishing blow if target under 1% end (finishing blow+devastating blow)

 

And the maximum damage possible would be 36*(1+799%)*(1+250%)*(1+60%)=1812 (1132pierce+679burn) - that's if you score a critical hit with your max weapon damage on a beast with under 1% endurance left. :p 

In practice however (average dmg, beast under 10% end) with the optimal setup you can expect close to 1300dmg with a critical.

 

PS. It seems the 6 hits of the blunderbuss are added together for the final damage - thus it has even higher damage potential than the arquebus. However the blunderbuss is limited by the endurance of the target (a target with low endurance will be likely killed by the first hit, while the others will do no damage...)

Nicely done! Just two things:

  • Death's Usher requires a Death Godlike, so the might bonus drops to 82% from 84% (which it would be for a human). The 20% is well worth that, though.
  • Killer's Work would be better than Rabbit Fur Gloves, as it gives 10% on the Finishing Blow Damage, so 25% overall, as opposed to the Rabbit Fur Gloves' 10%.

 

That pushes "Overkill" onto a whole new level. ;)

I meant that it's totally useless though. :)

 

"All art is quite useless".

 

So it comes as no surprise that the better it looks, the more useless it is. ;)

 

(There is a sweet spot between 25% and maybe 40%, where it looks worse, i.e. does less damage, but for bosses like dragons, it makes getting through count.)

For me, Finishing Blow - as it is now - is one of the most useless abilities in the game. Also totally overrated against dragons while stuff that is really good against them (like Knockdown, Force of Anguish or Whisper of Treason) doesn't get mentioned that often. The worst thing is that this rogue ability works best with slow & heavy hitters like an arquebus - much like Backstab. Not very roguelike. Not that rogues shouldn't use arquebuses - but those things are not really know as number one choice for Coup de Grace or as concealed backstabbing weapons... 

 

Whatever - the mechanic would be great as a passive ability though. That would also remove the advantage that slow & heavy weapons have.

The description is misleading but Killer's Work adds just a flat 10% dmg to Finishing Blow, ie the same amount as Rabbit Fur Gloves overall. I picked the second because Killer's Work works only 3 times per rest...

 

PS. Finishing Blow should have been 1/encounter to be relevant for a rogue...

That would be better. But it would still favor the slow and heavy weapons over the fast but light weapons. Only a passive use could change that. Of course not with the same numbers, that would be totally overpowered. I think this mechanic is well suited for a passive. I mean Death's Usher is a passive, too. It's just a bit weak.
