Come on, already! I was logged out and lost my chest cards!

Question

Posted

Seriously, guys, get this thing together!

I bought a Chest, but just as I opened the third card, I got the 'Connection lost" message, and a Loading screen that threw my back on the Home screen. In a couple of seconds, connection was reestablished but, of course, I had neither a chest, nor my fourth card. If I had paid real money for Chests, I would be seriously pissed (never mind I PAID for a bundle, but I'm still waiting on your Support to fix my missing AD1!). What's worse, I'm fairly convinced the 'connection drop' is on your end again (as it was on launch) , since my connection is the same and pretty stable!

I get it, you want your Treasure cards save server-side, but may I suggest you put some safeguard against these situations? How, about you 'draw' the Chest cards the moment a Chest is open, and then they are saved to Gallery instantly, regardless of if my connection drops before I flip them. And of course, it should be pretty mandatory you push some message to the player when he re--establishes connection, so he knows what he got and he didn't just get cheated out of his cards.

I lost 48 chests worth of cards. I feel your pain my friend....

Аnd you are logged in, right? 'Cause I found out Tresure cards don't show in the Gallery if you're not logged in (but there may be an exception for Tresure cards that are equpped in you r character deck - I couldn't verify this theory)

Kgk4569's issue was resolved in another thread.  The important bit was:

Could you please email support@obsidian.net or shoot me a PM with your Google Play/Game Center account user ID and the email attached to that account so we can take a look?

The thread is linked here.

Hello Longshot11,

Apologies for the inconveniences. As da_mayor as mentioned, kgk4569's issue was resolved by sending me his account ID and email attached to that account. We can look up your account and see what the issue was. Please shoot me a PM or email support so we can get this issue resolved. Also, do you still have those 3 cards in your gallery/vault? Or did you lose all the cards when you reconnected?

Thanks a bunch!

Yes, the first 3 cards were OK.

In the interest of fairness - later, while I played, I stumbled across a Treasure weapon, Quarterstaff +1, that I know for a fact I didn't have before. So I guess it was much ado about nothing, and I did actually get my fourth card, regardless that I didn't open it. My apologies for that.

However, I still stand by my opinion, that a player cannot be expected to look through a list of 1000 cards just to see if they actually got something and what. This will be even more egregious as we accumulate more instances of the same Treasures - I would never have noticed that I got my card if it was for example my 4th Blacksmith, instead of a unique card I have never seen before.

I had a similar issue. Bought 3 chests with gold earned from playing. Redeemed the first 2 okay, but the third would not open. It showed up as having one unopened chest, but would not turn into the 4 cards. Some time later, I restarted the iPad, and the third (unopened) chest disappeared entirely. I also checked the gallery, and couldn't see the cards from the 2 chests that did open (there were a number of a specific card that I remembered)

Oh, if you JUST want to see the Treasure (and unlockable-in-other-ways) cards, start at the opening splash screen (Continue, Story, Quest) and select the Gallery.  At the bottom of the screen, you'll see the word "Treasure" with three buttons: On, Off, and Available (I find these labels counter-intuitive).

"On" means to show all the typical card inventory PLUS the Treasure cards.  "Off" means only show the typical card inventory (there's a setting in the game that lets you keep those cards from showing up during Quest mode).  "Available" means JUST show Treasure cards.  You'll still have to cycle through 7 to 9 different decks and with 6 different boon types in each deck, but it's much more wieldy than scanning through all the regular inventory looking for copper, silver, or gold borders.
