Spam101
Okay so, I'm on the beta patch atm. just acquired Sun touched mail. Enchanted fine, Crush DR went up from 5 to 6. Should have been 7 Added a further enchantment of Crush Proofing. Went from 6 to 7, should have been 10 in total
0 AndreaColombo
Specifically, chain mail's base DR is 9, with 50% Crush DR (9 * 50% = 4.5 rounded up to 5 by the UI.) Fine enchantment gives you 11 base DR, and 11 * 50% = 5.5 Crush DR, rounded up to 6 by the UI. Crush proofing further brings this to (11+3) * 50% = 7 Crush DR. So, no bug. Just a non-intuitive UI, as Boeroer mentioned. 1 "Time is not your enemy. Forever is." — Fall-From-Grace, Planescape: Torment "It's the questions we can't answer that teach us the most. 0 Boeroer
That's not a bug. DR bonus/malus on armor is calculated in a complicated way that's totally unintuitive. Basically there are %modifiers that apply after your enchantments are added. So let's say there's an armor type that has a -50% crush mod. in general. It's base DR is 10. So it's crush DR would only be 5. If you enchant it with crush proofed it will have (10+3)*0.5= 6.5. That would be rounded up to 7. I don't know if this is the exact math they do - but kind of. 0 Spam101
Okay, thanks guys. Has it always been this way? I could have sworn the exact numbers were added on in the past, the description certainly implies that would be the case. The descriptions should really tell you the workings so you can calculate. 0 AndreaColombo
That I know of, it has always been like this--at least since release; not sure about the beta days. This has come up a number of times, and it has been brought to devs' attention that the current system is counterintuitive. Hopefully the next patch will address this in some way. 1 "Time is not your enemy. Forever is." — Fall-From-Grace, Planescape: Torment "It's the questions we can't answer that teach us the most. 0 Boeroer
I really hope so. Would like to see flat boni/mali on armors, not percentage based ones. It's a good system for weapon damage - but really counterintuitive for armor. 1 Deadfire Community Patch: Nexus Mods
