September 27, 201510 yr On my rogue is a armor called Jack of Wide Waters that has 6 burn DR. If you enchant it with burn-proof the DR only goes up to 8 instead of 9. To see this, load the save named proofing_bug. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qt8i5egtazdca4k/Pillars%20of%20Eternity_saves.zip?dl=0
September 27, 201510 yr It's working as intended. Proofing is not a flat +3 bonus DR against the given damage type as the UI would have you believe (it's already been reported that UI is very bad at communicating how DR works on armor.) Padded Armor DR: 4 Burn DR: 4 * 75% = 3 Exceptional Padded Armor (e.g. Jack of Wide Waters) DR: 4 + 4 = 8 Burn DR: 8 * 75% = 6 Burn-proof Exceptional Padded Armor (e.g. your case) DR: 4 + 4 = 8 Burn DR: (8+3) * 75% = 8.25 (rounded down to 8 by the UI) "Time is not your enemy. Forever is." — Fall-From-Grace, Planescape: Torment "It's the questions we can't answer that teach us the most. They teach us how to think. If you give a man an answer, all he gains is a little fact. But give him a question, and he'll look for his own answers." — Kvothe, The Wise Man's Fears My Deadfire mods: Brilliant Mod | Faster Deadfire | Deadfire Unnerfed | Helwalker Rekke | Permanent Per-Rest Bonuses | PoE Items for Deadfire | No Recyled Icons | Soul Charged Nautilus
September 27, 201510 yr What AndreaColombo says is the right explanation. If you need information on what percentages different armours apply to different sources of damage, the wiki has the answers: http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Armor When I said death before dishonour, I meant it alphabetically.
September 27, 201510 yr Wait. But if I upgrade that to superb later does the Burn DR go up retrospectively, or stay the same?
September 27, 201510 yr Wait. But if I upgrade that to superb later does the Burn DR go up retrospectively, or stay the same? It goes up to (10 + 3) * 75% = 9.75 (which the UI will round up to 10) "Time is not your enemy. Forever is." — Fall-From-Grace, Planescape: Torment "It's the questions we can't answer that teach us the most. They teach us how to think. If you give a man an answer, all he gains is a little fact.
