Hello,

There is something which I'm not sure if it's a bug or if it's intended. I've a sword with a maximal enchantement level of 12 (most items seem to have 12), which is currently at 10, including 2 of quality "fine". Shouldn't I be able to upgrade its quality to "exceptional" ? Exceptional replaces fine, so it would be 12 (+4 -2) at the end. But it says I've reached the limit.

It seems weird to me that you can, like, take a sword with a few effects giving it +6 enchantement level, and then you do : 1. fine 2. exceptional 3. burning lash or 1. burning lash 2. exceptional, and in both cases you'll have "exceptional, burning lash" in addition to its basic enchantements, but if you did 1. fine 2. burning lash, then you're stuck and can't upgrade it fully.

If it's indeed a bug, is there any workaround ?

It seems to be a bug in the respect that the game does not factor in the slots occupied by the enchantment you are replacing. It sees that you have 2 slots left, which is less than the 4 needed for the Fine enchant.

Hopefully a fix will make it into 1.05, but as the changelog has not been announced yet, we can only guess.

It's semantics, I know, but it might be more of an oversight than true bug.

I haven't run into this problem because I made the assumption that if it says 4 slots, I need to have 4 slots actually currently free for something to work, even if it's "replacing" another enchant. Unfortunately, not everyone is going to assume the same, so I think the other thread on this topic is more correct - that an explanation is missing.

Or they can change it to work the other way. :)

Still gaming with my 9900k/2080ti/32 ram. One day I suppose a game may inspire me to finally upgrade. Maybe.

Has anyone pointed this out in the support forum?

I'll raise this if someone sends me a saved game where I can repro the issue (I'm at a point in Act II where I can't enchant anything to Exceptional or Superb yet).

If you want to send me the saved game—please travel to Caed Nua before saving. I would very much like to avoid spoilers since I'm still relatively early in Act II.

Open the console.

CraftingDebug

and if you don't meet the level requirement:

AddExperience [number]

Quit to main menu to enable achievements again.

I tested it, but could only reproduce the bug on unique weapons, so be aware that it may be a factor.
