Guard Dog Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Got the Grizz/Nets game on the radio now. The Grizz are in total control and still going strong as the season closes in on the 3rd call marker. Guard Dog Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 For the ream with the 3rd best record and 1st in the west the Grizz got no love from the All Star game. Gasol was the only one to get in and he's not even our best player. "While it is true you learn with age, the down side is what you often learn is what a damn fool you were before" Thomas Sowell

Kobe, Anthony Davis, and Griffin are out. Boogie Cousins, Lillard, and Nowitzki were their injury replacements. All three deserve to go based on either personal achievements or combination of both stats and winning teams. NO. PLAYER (TEAM) POS. HT. WT. Guard Dog Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 No they are 2nd in the west, 1st in the Southwest Division I think Randolph should have gotten in as well as Gasol. Z-bo is 7th in 3pt, 4th in rebounds, 4th in DDs and he's AHEAD of Gasol in 2 of those. At least our Gasol anyway. Hurlshort Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Stephen Curry probably doesn't win the 3 point competition, he seems to to better under real pressure.

Volourn Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Lebronnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Jamessssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! \P.S. he should win his 10th straight MVP but he likely will be screwed over again. \ The facts don't lie... AGAIN.. Lebron simply makes every team he plays for better. PERIOD. I remember this time last year MIA was cruising along to their 4th striaght Finals appearance and I remember also CLE was such a laughing sgtock there was talk of their overrated guard leaving ASAP now their fortunes are reversed. Coincidence? I think not. 1 DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.

Volourn Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 His team is stacked. Don't count. But, he probably will since they have the best record. You take Curry from GS they still great team, you take james from CLE you get... the last 4 seasons... DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Leferd Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/curryst01/on-off/2015/ Warriors are +16.8 pts per 100 possessions with Curry on the court Warriors are -0.6 pts per 100 possessions with Curry off the court. Net total of +17.4 pts. 115.9 Offensive Efficiency 99.1 Defensive Efficiency http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jamesle01/on-off/2015/ Cavs are +9.9 pts per 100 possessions with Lebron on the court. Cavs are -6.2 pts per 100 possessions with Lebron off the court. Net total of +16.1 pts. 115.2 Offensive Efficiency 105.2 Defensive Efficiency Actually, it's closer than I thought. Warriors are average without Curry. Cavs are terrible without Lebron. Dubs are the better team overall and Curry the better player this year. Volourn Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Curry is playing with better players so of course his stats are better. Just look at last night. CLE won easily, Lebron played well but still ended up with 9 turnovers and sub .50% shooting because he is has to go to extemes to make up for his lesser mates. Curry can lazily pass the pall and pick up assists withotu trying and other teams have to guard other players. FACT: If James was on GS they'd be kicking ass and be even better. FACT: If Curry was on CLE, they'd be worse than they are now. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
kgambit Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 (edited) Curry is playing with better players so of course his stats are better. Not based on the on/off figures he isn't. Golden State Warriors On/Off Thompson +10.1* Green +12.6* Barnes +0.7* Bogut +7.8* Igoudala +1.6 Lee +0.1 Cleveland Cavaliers ON/Off Irving +13.0* Mozgov +13.9* (based on time with Cleveland only) Smith +4.2* (based on time with Cleveland only) Love +7.5* Shumpert +8.6 (based on time with Cleveland only) Thompson +2.2 Looks like LeBron's supporting cast is better based on that metric. Care to try again? Edited February 25, 2015 by kgambit 1
ShadySands Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Without even looking at the stats I would say Love and Irving are both better than the next best guy on GSW Free games updated 3/4/21
Leferd Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 I'll comment after work and the Cavs v Dubs tonight. "Things are funny...are comedic, because they mix the real with the absurd." - Buzz Aldrin."P-O-T-A-T-O-E" - Dan Quayle
Hurlshort Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I'd say GSW has more depth, although I don't know enough about the Cavs to really say for sure.
Volourn Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) "Without even looking at the stats I would say Love and Irving are both better than the next best guy on GSW" L0L Bigger names maybe but better? Nah. These are guys who can't even make the playoffs when they are the main guy. They leech off James. \\ But, the argument is moot. Barringa total breakdown Curry is winning MVP. A.. Team with way better record. B. People simply don't want James to win MVPs anymore. He has 4 and this new age where everyone has to win an award since it's 'not fair' otherwise. James should ahve like 10 by now. C. James' stats are hurt by playing on crappy team with crappy players. D. As be, it would just be 'boring' for James to win yet again. Plus, expectations for him ar ebeyond ridiculous that if ever wants to win another MVP he is gonna need his team to win 70 games and he'll need to average 30 points, 10 assists, 10 rebounds, 0TO, and 60% shooting from 3 point range. LMAO Everyone knows that James is the best player in the league and he is the most valuable. PERIOD. But, that's boring so people don't want to admit the truth. The guy has the most assists EVER by a forward and he's only friggin' 30. HOLY MOLY!!! FACT: If GS had a chance to trade Curry for James straight up they would do it no questions asked. Leferd Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Volo, No. I’ve already demonstrated raw numbers depicting what happens when both Curry and Lebron are on and off the court for their respective teams. Curry has a greater positive impact than does Lebron. No knock, as these two have greater impact on their team’s performance by a wide margin than any other players in the league. This includes Harden, Durant, Westbrook, Gasol, Z-Bo. As far as the talent disparity, look at all the preseason predictions by both Vegas and the Experts. Golden State received very little love, and the Cavs were the odds on favorite to win the title. Read my original post on this thread. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/68989-pro-hoops-2k14-2k15/?p=1523385 Here’s ESPN: http://espn.go.com/nba/notebook/_/page/nba1415/2014-15-nba-champion-predictions Of the 28 “pundits,” 14 chose Cleveland. 1 chose Golden State (and he happens to be a local Bay Area writer). Dubs over/under for the season was 50 ½ games. Golden State was 30-1 to win the chip. Cleveland’s over/under was 59. They were 3-2 favorites to be champs. Curry and the Warriors are absolutely crushing these predictions while Cleveland is severely under-performing against expectation. How can Lebron be MVP when: A) He's having a down year B) His team this season is not even going to come close to the over/under.
