Missing String - Master List

Hello Backers,

 

So it appears that we have a large amount of missing string data in various locations throughout the beta. Since these issues need to be resolved individually, I am building a master list of the missing strings. This is both to organize the data in a way the developers can easily fix and to relieve pressure on the forums from these bugs being posted multiple times.

 

Please post any findings of Missing Strings in this thread and I will come through periodically and update this post with the full list.

 

Screenshots are still great for this, as it gives us a clear visual of the location of the issue. So please attach any screenshots of the missing string to your posting.

 

I'll be starting the list with an example of some known strings. In an effort to keep the list readable, a primary location where or on what the string was found followed by a short description will be how I will be listing them.

• Pŵgra - lacking flavor description when selected in the cyclopedia/bestiary

Options

• Options menu - Missing String shown when selecting Polski language
• Controls menu - Missing String shown under Cancel Action key binding
• Graphics menu - Missing String shown when mousing over resolution

Misc.

• Loading Screen - from front end "Did You Know? : Missing String"
• Party Records - Various enemies display their names as Missing String
• Lle a Rhemen - Staircase inspectable displays Missing String when clicked

In the cyclopedia Pŵgra is missing the description:

Wizard Grimorie: Level 1 Spell "Thrust of Tattered Veils" has a missing string. (attached)

 

Misc: In the party and personal "Records", there are quite a few monsters that have *Missing String* listed under "Most Powerful Enemy Defeated". Note, I also attached my cyclopedia entries for monsters so you can see what I have slain. (attached)

This is a little different, it's a *NameError* one. It seems similiar though so posting here.

 

My BB Wizard is dazed so has -1 Int per his "Active Effects" on his character sheet. The description on clicking "Int" from "Character" shows -2 however and also has a *NameError*. He has major fatigue atm and an array of overlapping/duplicate effects so that may be factoring in.

 

When I click "Int" on his character portrait I get attached.

Also attached a copy of most of the duplicate effects on my Wizard.

I get missing string status to mine Druid weapon when I used Spiritshift Cat abilities. It also make double copies.. I haven't see this before

The Spanish location has a lot a lot a lot of missing strings, Every screen has something, even the beta characters have missing/unstranslated their names.

 

The quests, dialogs, etc. texts are very good translated.

Missing name and flavour text for a 3rd level druid spell. The effect description seems a bit odd as well.

Not sure if this counts, but anytime BB Wizard attempts to learn a spell from a recovered grimoire, there is a *NameError* for the token. Once you click Accept the next screen appears with the correct name of the spell showing (2nd screenshot).

Misc: In the party "Records" under Party Reputations. There is a 'Missing String' after the Dyrford Village entry. For clarity, it reads:

 

Dyrford Village: *Missing String* (Minor 1)

 

 

I think that was what was in the brackets. But the important part is before them.

I have the following ones from the Character Sheet Records (Wood Elf Ranger) and from Winfrith's store (boots also have a foodstuff icon).

Item Fine Pike has a missing string just over the 'On Attack' stat in the weapon description.

The trust of tattered veil spell discription has a missing string and the debuff too.

Missing string on a weapon I picked up as loot; Don't know what kind of weapon, as it shows *missing string* instead of the name. Description shows '12-20 pierce damage' and Speed:Average.

 

I'd attach a screenshot, except for one of the 2 following things: (which might be another bug)

1. Screenshots are not working; I hit prt scr, shift+prt scr, ctrl+prt scr, alt+prt scr, and also ctr+shift+prt scr), but no screenshots are found.
2. I'm looking in the wrong folder; \Appdata\Local\temp\Obsidian Entertainment\Pillars of Eternity\

When fighting Pŵgra, the combat log is field with

*Missing string* deals # damage to <Name>

# seems to be either 1 or 2.
