Raithe Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 And apparently those models are meant to be to matching scale.. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
Gfted1 Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 And apparently those models are meant to be to matching scale.. Huh, how about that: NCC-1701 = 948 Ft CVN-65 = 1,123 Ft For some reason I always thought that NCC-1701 would be much larger. "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
Raithe Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 For some reason I always thought that NCC-1701 would be much larger. The Enterprise never had a big crew. Just the supply of redshirts. The saucer section is..what, 2 decks? The main body is about the size of a destroyer..and is mostly made up of the engine room? "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."

It does make the wide halls and spacious rooms seem less likely, though.

Gromnir Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 the question is whether those plans existed before or after the model were used in the pilot episode. am suspecting that the model were a reality and then somebody afterwards decided to fill in the empty space with a "rational" ship design. am not enough o' a star trek fan to know if the chicken or egg came first in this situation. HA! Good Fun! Gfted1 Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 The Enterprise increases in size with every new revision. By the time we get to NCC-1701-E, that bad boy is 2,249 Ft in length! "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
