September 12, 20169 yr the question is whether those plans existed before or after the model were used in the pilot episode. am suspecting that the model were a reality and then somebody afterwards decided to fill in the empty space with a "rational" ship design. am not enough o' a star trek fan to know if the chicken or egg came first in this situation.
