    • Dialogue mixed with a lot of descriptive text (like planescape:torment)

PS:T style all the way.

If PE is going to be iso on a comparatively low budget, there's no way that they can add countless voice overs and animations for minor encounters and I'd argue that there is no need either. Let writing do what it does best.

Hit us with every iota of information needed to ensure the verisimilitude of the world is both broad and deep via both written and spoken word. I rather enjoy reading and the written word is a much less expensive medium for conveying information to the player (quality voice acting = big $$$). This translates to more zots available for aspects of the game that cannot be covered adequately by blocks of text, be they flavor or otherwise.

Torment-style hands down.

 

Definitely.

 

A nightmare for translators, better for the rest of us :D
