August 13, 200421 yr I think it would be nice if some times you could use a speeder for faster transportation. I know some people would use this as a way to avoid combat sometimes but mabey you cold be shot/knocked/force pushed off of it by your foes. This could save time from having to go back and forth between certian areas.
August 13, 200421 yr Yeah, they kept the Force Speed in there, so that should be fine. Never assume malice when stupidity is to blame.
August 13, 200421 yr If the mechanics and ratio worked in the same manner as KotOR then no. I don't like games that have overly massive areas in which there is more to see than do. Anything that usually gives vehicles to you and tricks you as "epic" is one of these types of games.
August 13, 200421 yr The only way I can see speeders being included in the game is as an out-of-gameplay traveling medium ala ebon hawk but in-planet. Cut scene sort of thing. "Things are funny...are comedic, because they mix the real with the absurd." - Buzz Aldrin."P-O-T-A-T-O-E" - Dan Quayle

August 13, 200421 yr This is probably as far off topic as you can get, but I just read today that Gothic 3 will be 4 times larger than Gothic 2 and they are seriously considering mounts! Damn, that would rock! I've always wanted to speed through the lands of Gothic Ahem, but I voted no for KotOR2. The maps are too small and they would feel even smaller if you could speed through them. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
August 13, 200421 yr Author If the maps were larger such as the desert around ancorhead the speeders could be useful
August 13, 200421 yr no thanks. i'd rather walk/run. "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
August 14, 200421 yr They said the maps are goin to be much more bigger than kotor1, so if they're goin to be HUGE, speeders could be handy.
August 14, 200421 yr Even if the dimensions were twice as large (four times the area), they'd still be too small for speeders (well, speeders that go at speeder speed). They'd be too large for walking though. But still too small for speeders. Curious about the subraces in Pillars of Eternity? Check out
August 14, 200421 yr Actually, they said they would average about the same. Basically, Speeder would be good as an inverse of the 'return to the Ebon Hawk' feature, but without world like Kashyyk were you were doing more running than anything.
August 15, 200421 yr The only way I can see speeders being included in the game is as an out-of-gameplay traveling medium ala ebon hawk but in-planet. Cut scene sort of thing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ^
August 15, 200421 yr For transportation no, but as an added "chase" plot yes. I would gladly accept it if a combat element was added to the races as well...a bit like the random attack before you enter Hyperspace in the Ebon Hawk. (Signatures: disabled)
August 16, 200421 yr Author what if there was a chase like the one in Return of the Jedi. That would be fun
August 16, 200421 yr Also a tad OT, but they pulled off the speeder fights EXTREMELY well in Jedi Academy, or so I thought. It felt like jousting, of sorts. You could also force push/pull the enemies off their speeders. The slow motion crashes were just icing on the cake. Word economics To express my vast wisdom I speak in haiku's.
August 16, 200421 yr ya and it would give the world the feeling of being larger the force is what gives a jedi his power. its an energy field created by all living things. it surrounds us and penetrates us. it binds the galaxy together
August 18, 200421 yr Well, they said no new minigames, but hopefully the swoop races have been improved enough to satiate people's desires to have speeder chases.
