Last time I didn't get one of his tirades, I got called a n00b, so I just try and pretend I know what he's talking about.

Absolutely disgusting indeed!

I'm sure your comment is nothing at all like tossing some gasoline on the fire...

Eh, pretty much everything said to Volourn is like tossing gas on the fire, so you might as well have fun :)

My feelings are hurt by your last comment, Krook, even though I don't post much anymore.

Crappy loss in the shootout for the OIlers tonight. I could have sworn that the puck crossed the line, but the camera view was obstructed by the Nashville goalies stick.

Well maybe if you would return people's calls for once... >_<

Ottawa needs to hurry up and fire Murray. Too bad Melnyk has said that Murray is safe till the end of the season. Gives him more time to run things (even further) into the ground.

Kessel goes last in the all star draft after Staal burns Toronto (not a hockey market). Lidstrom pauses before selecting Kessel. Ovechkin puts the icing and the whole awkward situation.

I love the idea of choosing players for this. The presentation itself was pretty bad, particularly giving Kessel a car at the end and then showering them all in confetti. I hope they stick with this format though. I was hoping they would try and opt for a bag of pucks before calling on Kessel though, just for laughs :)

Nope. I watch real games not fake ones. Besdies, the NHL is being run by scumbags who treat their employees like trash.

I'm pretty sure it was a real game. I watched it, it existed. And no one going to give a crap what you say about the NHL treating their employees like trash until you tell us what the hell you're talking about lol

so the devils are pretty much destroyed now, rooting for the Lightning to take the cup. How didn't St. Louis make the olympic team? highest scoring Canadian (besides Crosby) in the league right now. Last year was no different when he finished with 94 points. I think Stamkos finished with more...but he didn't make the cut either. He's young so that's understandable - but St. Louis has been one of the best forwards in the league for the last 8 years.

It's a damn shame that he didn't make the team, but who would you have had him replace?

EDIT: You mean behind Crosby and Stamkos.

Yeah, I mean that the only two higher scoring Canadians were Crosby and Stamkos.

I think St. Louis could have went over Cory Perry, or Mike Richards. I mean obviously they chose the right team seeing as how they won it all...But I definitely don't think he'd be out of place in the lineup.

I have no opinion of the All-Star game, but I think the Guardian project was a waste of time. Maybe kids will like it, but as an adult, it seems stupid.

I am curious as to whether my Sharks can turn it on here for the second half. I think they are too talented to just melt down, but I really think a trade is needed to shore up the blue line. Unfortunately that probably means moving one of our talented but underperforming forwards. It will be interesting, my money is on Setoguchi being the most moveable, but I know cap room is an issue as well.

I thought Christmas was two months ago. Edmonton won a game! Against Dallas!

Any thoughts on the Versteeg to Philly deal? Sure, it's a first round pick, but I figure the Flyers will finish pretty high in the standings.

If the Devils make the playoffs Philly better hope they don't play them in the first round. The Devils have to win something like 20 of their last 26 (which is doable, considering they've gone 12-1-2 in their last 15). And any team that comes into the playoffs that hot is going to make a pretty good run.

The Devils have had the craziest season I think I have ever seen in professional sports.

I can barely cope. I'm going to a game on March 8th I believe. I just hope we're still fighting for that playoff spot by then.

I swear to god if we make the playoffs and they don't give the C to Elias I'll be seriously pissed. The guy has been the only consistent player all year, and he's half the reason we even have a chance - at - having - a chance - of making the playoffs.

I'm very pleased at seeing NJD pick it up. They are my favored team after all (Besides the locals: Wild, Blackhawks, Redwings. Not to mention Joe Pavelski (SJS) and I played together in High School).

You played with Pavelski? Awesome, I'm a big fan of his. He's Mr. Clutch in the playoffs.

He's originally from Plover, WI. He graduated with my brother who is 7 years younger than I am. They were both on varsity and we'd play pick up games in the public rinks. A couple years ago we played when it was -45 with the windchill. There were a few guys who shattered a puck that night with their slapshots hitting the crossbars. I don't think any one of us got cold that night either. It was a very intense game as everyone wanted to keep moving to prevent numbing limbs. I don't know him on anymore of a personal level than that. He was always good and he knew it.

Edit: On similar notes (this is why I like hockey pros); Brian Raphalski lives in Waupaca, WI (30m away from my home). I've played golf with him a few times. I was invited by my brother. I'm not a huge golf fan. He's really down to earth though. Also, Bret Hull lives near Twig, MN (which is 6m North of Duluth). I got to meet him when we were repairing Railroad tracks near his property. Which reminds me, I haven't been to the US Hockey Hall of Fame yet. It's only about 45 miles north of Duluth.
