mkreku Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Got tired of my free slow-ass internet. Got a new one: That's better. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Purkake Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 Your pipe is so wide you could send androids through there to fix your communications satellite.
Amentep Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man
mkreku Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Apparently it's a bit time dependant. This time it was done during Swedish morning hours. Last time I did it at lunch. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!

Zoraptor Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Sadly, that's the best 'broadband' available here- theoretically it is actually a 3.2mbps connection...
Hiro Protagonist Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Surfing the internet is non-existant. Had three computers downloading hogging all the bandwidth and all I heard from the g/f was 'ARE YOU DOWNLOADING??? YOUR STUPIDITY IS GOING TO KILL ME!!''
Maria Caliban Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Posting after Hiro makes me feel better. "When is this out. I can't wait to play it so I can talk at length about how bad it is." - Gorgon.
Deraldin Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) Posting from school. I'm using the wireless network, but I've only got 1 bar in the classroom. Giant concrete box is apparently not very good for signal strength 0.32 down/0.11 down Edited September 21, 2009 by Deraldin
Hiro Protagonist Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Moved to a new house and changed ISPs. Had broadband at my previous place but three computers downloading hogged all the bandwidth. With the same computers this is my new speed. So much better.
Dark_Raven Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 0.0 MBs Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Purkake Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 0.0 MBs MB/min is also okay, a little internet is better than no internet, right?
Dark_Raven Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Indeed. Borrow from a friend, library or what ever. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Kelverin Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 (edited) Just moved looks like I lost some speed. Dumped Verizon, terrible customer service and sloooooooow, and constant interrupted connection. Deraldin Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 All the major ISPs around here suck. Faster would be nice, but I'd hate to give any of them more of our money. Edit: Except for Hurlshot's Wildblue, my Sympatico is tied with Kor's Telus for lowest ISP rating at 2.6. Woo! Go us! My ping to that server has almost tripled and my speed has increased a little bit. Bell did something to our line today and it's a little bit faster than before. It's more noticeable on the wired connection where we've got a full 5Mb/s down!
alanschu Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I have high speeds too, but bad ping due to wireless
Deraldin Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 (edited) I have high speeds too, but bad ping due to wireless If I really, really wanted to, I could probably run a wire from the router in the next room, but it would require moving a lot of furniture to hide it along the wall. I'm just thankful I've got an extra WRT54G around that I could load up with DD-WRT and use as a bridge. Edited October 13, 2009 by Deraldin
Humodour Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 My home internet. We're upgrading to 1.5 mbps soon (currently 512kbps).

jaguars4ever Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 As long as you can make the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs. We've made it in less, Alan! Ah, those were the days...
Deraldin Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 (edited) Your connection was probably changed to interleaved to improve stability. They called us yesterday afternoon to inform us that we had been switched to a slower profile in order to improve stability on our line. At the moment we're having more problems than we had before they played with it. In the 2 days since we've been switched over we have had our connection dwindle to nothing (0.15Mbps up, 0.5 down) three times. We've had this issue with our service for quite some time, but power cycling the router/modem sets everything back to normal so it hasn't been enough to get us to do anything since it was infrequent enough to not be a bother. 3 times in 2 days is pushing it however. Been checking out some options. One of the local telecoms offers ADSL2+ in the area and we're within 2km of the CO. As a bonus they don't throttle and have no bandwidth caps. Need to look into this a little more. Edited October 16, 2009 by Deraldin
