I agree, the game looks fun to play, the the aesthetic reminds me of KoTOR a little bit. I think it'll be fun to pair up with people and do missions. It'll be interesting to see what happens when you make decisions other people don't like and vice-versa.

Also it looks like you will have to take some care with the people you group with. You don't want someone who is going to make stupid decisions for you in the dialog areas which can really screw you up. For example even as evil i wouldn't just kill the captain and then go into a difficult battle with his inexperienced first officer. I would make him do the attack and then execute him if he was still confrontational, why waste the talent unless i really had to?

 

Also the little kid in me loved the Smuggler kicking the enemy in the groin, that was awesome.

Other MMOs have dialog choices that affect the story? I have only played WoW so I may have missed the other ones.

So, it has somewhat better story mechanics than WoW. Running around solo, pretending that you're playing KotOR III is still pretty silly. People don't play MMOs for the story, they play them for the multiplayer experience. It's fun to kill stuff and collect loot with buddies, watching cutscene after cutscene, not so much.

.....I actually started playing WoW because i liked the Warcraft lore.....

 

Well combat wise i actually like the slow combat where you can take your time with what your next attack will be, probably since i love RPGs so much.

I know it isn't KOTOR 3 but a good quality MMO in the star wars universe with a branching dialog system would be very interesting.

Will it be good? Who knows really, but in my opinion Bioware has made it different enough from other MMOs so far to be worth a look.

Well, it's still an MMO. If Bioware won't ruin it, other players surely will.

I'm also willing to bet regular MMO players wanting to try it will start playing it, reach the first few cutscenes, dislike it and give up soon after. It's not whether the game is good, it's that I really doubt people will play it right or play it at all.

You are right in that the worst thing about an MMO is the fact that other people are needed to play through it.

For every good ally there are 20 **** who will ruin it for everyone around it.

I guess i can hope that most of the jackasses will leave after playing it for a while while leaving a smaller but higher quality fanbase.

 

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I will most likely give the game a shot and hope that the other players won't ruin it.

I am unsure about the group dialog thingie, i will agree that there will be many people who will be there just to mess things up for people. I hope that there will be a way to compensate for those kinds of people.

After seeing that gameplay trailer, where they showed a little combat and conversations, i have to say i wasn't overly impressed. I don't play mmorpgs anyway, and right now this doesn't look like the game that will make me test the waters.
