Magister Lajciak Posted March 4, 2009 Author Posted March 4, 2009 Well, if not the best game, at least I think it is one of the best Gamespot reviews I have ever seen.
Aristes Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 That was a great review and one of the few that I will use exclusively for my decision not to buy a game.
Deraldin Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Well, if not the best game, at least I think it is one of the best Gamespot reviews I have ever seen. I still prefer their review of Real Life. They gave it a 9.6.

Yep, that's for sure! Here is the written review: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/driving/bigrigsotrr/review.html Finally, here you can see the game in Gamespot's Top 10: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/driving/bigrigs...fully-bad-games Edited March 4, 2009 by Magister Lajciak

Aristes Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I noticed on the text review you linked that someone gave the game a 3/10. How? HOW?! HAHAHAHAHHAHA.... *pauses to catch breath* HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... *gasps for breath* HAHAHAHAA .... *whew* I wonder if maybe this problem was confined to the reviewer. I'll read some other reviews. Absolute comedy. The reviews are more interesting than the game.
Deadly_Nightshade Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 (edited) Yeah, that game is a real gem. Just remember it's still a "YOU'RE WINNER" despite its flaws... EDIT: Taken from Metacritic: David H gave it a10:This really is the best game ever made. I dont know why people keep trying to knock it. The physics are so absolutely amazing, its like you're one with the entire Big Rigs universe, the collision detection is so good, its almost like it isnt there in the first place! This game is very hard to master, but once you play it enough, you'll be running circles around your opponents! There is one small downside however. The learning curve is pretty steep. The controls can get a bit irritating at times because they're so realistic. You really get to feel at the raw braking power the semis have, especially when stopping in reverse. Just buy this game guys, it will change your life. Edited March 4, 2009 by Deadly_Nightshade "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Magister Lajciak Posted March 4, 2009 Author Posted March 4, 2009 I almost broke my ribs by laughing at the review. I definitely agree that the reviews are much more entertaining than the game. The same was actually the case with the Dungeons & Dragons movie and the reviews for it.
Tigranes Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 This is to say, actually, that none of the game's races have a purpose because there's no competition and no time limit. You win every single time. So unless you especially like seeing a winning-screen over and over again that reads "You're Winner!", there is absolutely no point in playing Big Rigs. These guys were way ahead of their time!!! Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
Magister Lajciak Posted March 5, 2009 Author Posted March 5, 2009 Well, it does fit the modern trend in making games easier and making sure that players cannot fail.
WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 This dates back from 2004... pretty freaking old. "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"
LadyCrimson Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Well, I have never seen it, so I'm glad it was posted. Gave me my giggle of the day. Hilarious. “Things are as they are. Magister Lajciak Posted March 8, 2009 Author Posted March 8, 2009 I am glad you enjoyed it! I know it's old, but I hadn't seen it before and thought it worth posting.
Rostere Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 My favourite Big Rigs review: "Well, overkill is my middle name. And my last name. And all of my other names as well!"
Magister Lajciak Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 Strawberry Shortcake: Warning: The video contains foul language. I think this game beats even Big Rigs!

Zebranky Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 I have had the... experience... of playing BigRigs over the road Racing. If you ever see this: Cancel. Please, for the love of all that is good, hit Cancel. http://www.roguedao.com/

samm Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/pc/2009/03/...e-path-review/1 This actually is the best review ever. I don't know if I'll play the game, but the review is sublime. Citizen of a country with a racist, hypocritical majority
Aristes Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I dunno, samm, I didn't finish the review. I read the first page and decided to buy the game over STEAM. We'll see. I just hope I didn't get snookered into buying some stupid erotic, Japanesesque, pedophilic quasi-porn. On the other hand, his first impression was quite good and I'm going to dive right in for fear that his second impressions will ruin some of the story for me.
samm Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 It sure sounds like a test of patience, and to avoid spoiling anything: the review gave it a 5 / 10 in the end, because the other reviewers forced him to - otherwise it would have been awarded an editor's choice... Citizen of a country with a racist, hypocritical majority
Aristes Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 (edited) Oh, it's frustrating and quite weird. EDIT: But I actually like it so far. It's worth the 9 bucks I paid for it. Take from that what you will. Edited March 28, 2009 by Aristes
