Assassin's Creed Redux

Rather than resort to necro-searching I thought I would start a thread about this strange game.

OK, so I mustered the patience to sit through the rest of the tutorials. A few questions for those that have played Assassin's Creed.

Whats with the pantomime ?. Is my game broken or is every human interaction basically you standing in an invisible box you can't get out of looking at the subject speaking, with no sound, other than the music. Until the game decides the phantom discussion is over.

How do you fast travel, I'm sure it's somewhere in the map functions, can't find it. This reminds me of Oblivion making dropping an item a secret you had to root through the manual to discover.

Other observations :

Why does my horse veer to the left making me have to correct its direction constantly.

Why didn't they stick an icon next to your currently selected mode, high or low profile. The difference seems to be 2

Na na  na na  na na  ...

greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER.

That is all.

ah, Assassin's Creed. one third of a brilliant game, two thirds complete dross.

in fact it's still a great game if you don't mind:

  • a stealth game with very little actual stealth
  • repeating the same basic mission 9 or 10 times
  • endlessly tedious, badly-written dialogue that can't be fast-forwarded
  • an increasingly lazy reliance on awkward combat

the climbing and jumping were great, though, and the cities looked amazing. i kept leaping around rooftops, imagining what the folk who made the Thief series would have done with the same material.

dumber than a bag of hammers

you'll get "speed travel" where you simply leave a city and hit another city once you've done the first three assassinations.

You're never in blend mode unless you hold the button.

He nails it.

Assassin's Creed can be such an awesome game but ended up lacking and unsatisfying.

The unskippable bad written dialogues in-game that can even last up to 5 minutes does push your patience and limits. Do have a zen book closeby and make sure your gun's locked, unloaded and nowhere within arm's reach.

The plot itself is unnecessarily convulted. I would prefer the game to simply set in the Jerusaleum setting than going back and forth from past to present timeline.

Anyway, meh. Good graphics and awesome scenery. I'll just give that.

Ahh, I guess I have DX issues, it turns out I can hear the dialogue, depending on which way I turn. It's as if some of the audio channels in the directional audio are just missing. From what I've been hearing though, I'm not missing much.

dude, trust me, people would pay extra for a copy of AC without the bloody dialogue.

whenever you get to a cutscene, just pick up a book or something. it's the most bearable way to play the game.

Its fine for those curious people who plays the game on their first time through.

Now as for people like me who enjoys collecting flags or simply play the game's combat for fun, replaying the game is damn tedious since you can't skip the 5 minute dialogues after choosing the stage you want to replay over and over again with unlocked combat moves.

haha, certainly true. I was somewhat interested in the storyline because I'm a bit of a history nerd, but after a while the boring characters really got to me and I didn't care about the story (which wasn't that great anyway) I just wanted to get to the assassinations. Those were awesome though, I think it's definitely worth checking out.
