I'm gonna say Newt, Hudson, Hicks, Dallas, and Vasquez.

Newt was sweet and quiet, young and innocent, but SMART. Look how long she lasted "with no weapons and NO training."

"Why don't you put her in charge?"

I liked Hudson, because of the "freak out" factor he added to the film.

quiz824outcome2.jpg

Hicks, because he was just so cool and "with it". And my whole childhood crush-thing. :)

DALLAS.JPG

Dallas. When he died in the 1st film, I remember thinking that all bets were off. He was the one I considered the strongest character, and without him, things seemed to degenerate quickly.

And Vasquez because she was so bad*ss. But feminine in her obvious care for Drake. Ripley was VERY cool. And VERY strong. But they managed to find a woman who was even stronger.

Also, :aiee: @ Pop's pic.

Wait. Vasquez was feminine?

No, Walsingham, not really.

"Have you ever been mistaken for a man?"

"No. Have you?"

I just wanted to point out the fact that, contrary to what Jaesun caught from the film, I thought that it was pretty obvious that she was in love with Drake. And she IS bad*ss. But she's still a girl (with big boobies, too). :woot:

odd list:

Alien-

Kane; for his mostly relaxed attitude despite short screen time. Plus I like the actor so that helps.

Ash- was a good villain

Alien 2-

Bishop - for aforementioned reasons.

Alien 3-

Aaron- the poor guy

Dillon- got to love the overly good guy in hell (or hate depending on your stance).

Alien Resurrection

Christie- the whole crew seemed was eccentric, but he seemed to be the most grounded (from what I remember at least, its been 4+ years)

Boy, that's a tough one. The Alien movies have a lot of wonderful characters.

Ripley. Obviously. Sigourney Weaver plays Ripley perfectly in all the films, even in Resurrection (which sucked), but mostly because she gets Ripley across as a tough cookie without making her a tomboy or right out macho.

Kane. Because John Hurt rules, even if he's in a movie only a short time. But heck, most of the original cast rocked.

Parker and Brett. You can't separate those two - that would be like separated Laurel and Hardy or 3PO and R2 (or HK-47 and T3-M4). And, again, both Yaphet Kotto and Harry Dean Stanton rock.

Ash. Nasty piece of work. I love Ian Holm. And his line here is a classic - "I admire its purity." That line alone made the character so very memorable.

Hicks. The grunt with heart and smart. I loved him.

Hudson. Need I say it? "Game over, man - just f****** game over!" If that isn't enough: "You're dead! You're dogmeat, pal!"

Bishop. The "good" android, but Lance Henriksen keeps you guessing all the way - that guy's scary even as a good guy

Vasquez. The girl with the attitude... and a big gun! Nobody - including aliens - is tough enough to mess with her - the only way she can go is to self-destruct! "I need to know just one thing - where they are!"

Clemens. A complex character with a dark past. Got a nasty end too soon in the film, though. I guess the alien gets cranky if you smooch with momma... :bat:

Dillon. Won me over with one line: "I've gotta re-educate some of the brothers!"

Oh, and...

Dr. Gediman - Brad Dourif rules.

He does.

No, Walsingham, not really.

That is a fantastic line, no doubt.

Lambert, she clearly represents most of us in a situation of nightmare like that one. Best Interpretation in the first film.

I also like the jailed ones from alien 3..., they are all superb, not only morse.

Vasquez doesn't show any affection toward a female character in the film, so it's kind of hard for me to read her as a lesbian. James Cameron loves tough female characters, period. I don't think any of them have ever shown actual lesbian traits (i.e. the important ones, like attraction to women). Aliens, T2, Dark Angel, Battle Angel Alita, etc.

Well, I,d say that Vasquez was in love with Drake..., she didn,t seem to be a lesbian or such xD.

Now Sarah Connor! Rowwrrrr...

EDIT: I like my women like I like my coffee - strong enough to destroy killer robots from the future.

(can you tell I favor Aliens over Alien? :ermm: )

I liked the second film the best. All the actors seems to works so well together.

Ripley. ofcourse

Hicks. for keeping his cool. shouldn't been written of in the third >_<

Hudson, love this one:

Ripley: They cut the power.

Hudson: What do you mean, "*They* cut the power"? How could they cut the power, man? They're animals!

and the rest of them. Aliens is just a well written, directed movie!

dropship pilot in aliens

"Lambert: You admire it. Ash: I admire its purity. A survivor. Unclouded by conscious, remorse, or delusions of morality. "

FTW !!! :D

Wow...this is kinda a hard question to answer.

In Alien I really liked Dallas and Ripley, but Parker and Brett were a lot of fun too. And I admit at the end I was rooting for Lambert and Ripley to get out alive (I got 50/50 on that one).

In Aliens well Ripley again, but also Bishop, Newt, Vasquez and Hudson. I was hoping the dropship pilot, Ferro and the Sgt Apone would have lasted longer though.

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

Hicks.

That was the worst part of Alien 3, imo. Killing him off. Makes me wanna write fan fic.

Man, I'm gonna go with the unexpected...

The Queen from Aliens. She had so much personality in the way they operated her. She's caring (for the eggs), clever (opening the egg thinking Ripley wouldn't notice), and mean (when she rips Bishop in half)!

On a human note, I would say Ripley, Hicks, and definetly Burke. Ripley grows and changes and eventually makes the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good. Hicks kicks more ass than just about everyone else...ever. And Burke is just scum. Pure scum. Awesome, slick, icky, and brilliantly acted scum.

The Breakdown Begins this May.

Characters in Alien and Aliens were awesome, except that little miss Newt. Total garbage character, even for a kid. Good that they killed her off in Alien 3. Alien Resurrection cast was mostly good, but the movie could have gained more from another hour film length for more character elaboration.

Vasquez was cool, as was Bishop, in their own ways. Hudson was just an overrated and hysterical sissy, but fun nonetheless.

It's unfortunate that Husdon is often reduced to catchphrases, but he had a decent amount of development. He starts out incredibly cocky, becomes witless and hysterical once things go wrong, manages to settle down when Ripley makes clear that he needs to, and finally ends up taking out a bunch of bugs in a suicidal last stand. He's not Hamlet, but he did have a good character arc.

His role had a justification, indeed. Even if it was only to build polarization against Ripley. Hudson, the jerk, Ripley, the cool and smart. It worked quite well.

Its funny how many people like Hicks and I dislike him (wonder what that says about me  ) . And its for the same reason also- I'm not a fan of knightly characters for some reason...

I didn't like Hicks, either. Good that they killed him off in Alien 3, besides that little goose.
