Musopticon?
That was EPIC, goddamn. I almost yelled when that War Spider eviscerated a battle brother and the ending left that tingling sensation in my spine that makes your hairs raise and either tells of a rising ozone count or the coming of AWESOME. Have my unborn manbabies, Relic Entertainment! Also, known races count so far is 3, or tentative 4(if Nids are an actual playable race and not a Winter Assault "zomg Necrons!" cop-out). Any bids for the other one? IIRC, there was supposed to be 5 races on release. Somebody correct me, please. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Moatilliatta
I'm pretty sure that they haven't announced any specific number of races and they would be pretty stupid (or is that too harsh?) to put themselves up for balancing more than four races in one game. I can't predict which races are in the game, but I can say that I sincerely hope that the Guard is in the first expansion pack at the very latest. The Eldar and Tyranids are awesome but they can only tide me over for so long.

Musopticon?
I became a willing slave to Relic by the time the Banshee war howl started. Just....wow. Apparently the trailer wasn't made by Blur Studios, like the previous DoW intro, but by plasticwax, best known from Stalker:SoC cutscenes. Which frankly were very good. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. tripleRRR
This looks incredible. The cinematic was even better than I expected. I had thought that blur would have a hard time topping the cinematic from the first Dawn of War. But damn. I watched that thing 5 times today in HD. Awesome!!!! I am so excited about this game. Moatilliatta
Extended trailer from the games convention and a preview. Tyranids in gamplay! OM NOM NOM NOM! WILL THE ALMIGHTY
So this basically Starcraft? (or vice-versa) "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"
Xard
So this basically Starcraft? (or vice-versa) Something a lot more awesome How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)
Nick_i_am
So this basically Starcraft? (or vice-versa) In terms of gameplay? No, Dawn of War 2 uses a squad mechanic combined with zero base building, limited RU management and a small number of units to produce a game that's mostly tactical in nature (although, still an RTS). In terms of backstory? Much of Starcrafts design and visual asthetic was 'borrowed' from 40k, but their relationship pretty much ends there. Moatilliatta
Looks great, and the campaign sounds better every time they release new info. I dunno. We're only gonna get a Space Marines campaign and I can't stop thinking how awesome a Tyranid campaign would be. Mission Goal: Eat everything! Moatilliatta
I think they mentioned only having a Space Marine campaign in a preview somewhere. Could be just crazy developer talk but I think they've scrapped the multiple campaings thing. Edit: Epic! I've just found this incredibly radical and innovative technique called reading the articles! IGN: The Space Marine campaign is looking pretty impressive, but will the other races get similar treatment? Will the Tyranids or the Orks be playable in single-player? Or are the other races multiplayer only? Philippe Boulle: We're deeply committed to game quality and creating the best experience for our players as possible, so we will be focusing our full resources on one really rich and compelling Space Marine campaign experience. The single-player campaign is incredibly deep, with tons of player choice and progression, branching storylines and a lot of replayability. We've always said that players can save the universe the way they want to, and the amount of squad customization and progression will ensure that players will have many choices to make that will ultimately affect the end result. While we have a really rich and robust campaign planned for single-player, all of the armies that we have announced will be playable in multiplayer, including the Space Marines, Orks, Eldar and of course, the Tyranids! Crazy developer talk. I think it means they've only have a SM campaing. Wikipedia seems to agree with me.
