Pidesco
I have to sign a Word document for the first time, and I need to know how to go about it. Do I have to print it out, sign it by hand and scan it, if not would just typing my name suffice, or should I somehow digitally sign it? If it's the last option that's necessary, how would I do that? Answer quickly, please. qt3.14159
You can always scan a copy of your signature and drop it into the document as an image... Anybody here catch that? All I understood was 'very'.
Enoch
I usually do the print, sign, and scan (as a .pdf). That way, others can't easily alter the file so that it looks like I've signed off on their edits.
Arkan
I usually do the print, sign, and scan (as a .pdf). That way, others can't easily alter the file so that it looks like I've signed off on their edits. This is probably the best way, as you now have a hard copy, too. "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta
Pidesco
I'll buy a scanner, then. Thanks! Kaftan Barlast
Why dont you print it, sign it and give them the printout? The validity of a contract in digital form is more than a bit dodgy, imo. Gorth
Fax it. In most countries I've been to, that (a fax) is a valid legal document “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Blarghagh
I agree with Gorth, but if you're dead set on doing it digitally I suggest using a Tablet.
Walsingham
On principle, you should be happy to sign off on HOW you sign off. I'd be instantly suspicious of anyone who insisted a hard copy was unacceptable. In this instance I'd sign in blue/coloured ink, and fedex them it, while retaining a colour copy. "It wasn't lies.
