My previous post was a reply to a post by you, where you stated that Jeunet's Aliens was a good movie, while Scott's Alien was a bad movie. That post seems to have gone missing.

Edit: And now it's not missing. :shrugz:

Well I think Jeunet's Aliens film was a good movie.

I wouldn't say its better than Scott's film though (which IMO is still the best of the lots).

I think Aliens was the best, but that does not mean that Alien wasn't good - it was.

My favorite movie is Aliens. Mainly because of the intense action/adventure and marines. They definetely chose the right cast for it, and the same goes to Alien. Dont get me wrong Alien is a great movie its just that I tend to favor a little more action than horror.

My least favorite movie is Aliens3. Im particularly angry at there decision to kill off Hicks and Bishop. Which didnt help the boring actors in alien3. Theres no one to actually like in Aliens3 (excluding Ripley). The only character I liked beseid Ripley, was Clemens who was killed towards the middle of the film. Though I did like the idea of the setting being in a prison.

My favs are Cameron Aleins and Jeunet Alien Ressurection. They are the strongest in my opinion. Then goes Finchers Alein 3 and the least intresting for me is the first one by Ridly Scott who is IMO the weakest director from this four. I am really amazed of underestimated 4th Alein that is for me super cool, very stylie and also has a marvelous cast of actors. Most ppl who didn't like it are probably americans (don't want to offend). Jean-Pierre Jeunet is one of the most awesome directors out there, he havent done a single weak movie. You should watch his classic "Delicatessen" and "the City of lost children" wich were made with Mark Karo and his solo "Amelie" and "The Long Engagement". Every scene in 4th Alien is so cool and stylish that you can watch it and purely enjoy non-stop. Not a single boring moment. Perfect sence of that mood of the 'crazy things going on a lonely spacestation somewhere in da space', and all the jokes are very nice. Ripley: "Say folk.. fukc", "Whom do I have to fukc with to get out of this ship?" Perelman: "I can help you with..maybe not the ship", Perelman: "Earth.. what a ****hole" and when he shot a spider and many other moments. And I can definatly say that Ressurection is the most visually beatifull part. Not cos of the special effects but of the photography work. That scenes when for exp pirates first time come aboard the main ship and camera slowly shows them from the feet and then all together in sync with music. When Ripley jumps acros the bridge to reach Betty in slowmo, when Alein rips through this guy whith glasses chest into the bad guy head - it's actually fills like an orgasm and many other. The quality of shooting is superb. And I like all characters there.

I as I can guess from the screenshots I have seen, Aliens RPG will be based mostly on the most popular second part. Which is cool for me :(

My God. Here's why I don't like Aliens Ressurection, Point for Point:

The visual style was terrible, undermining what the previous three movies had established by hurling us hundreds of years into the future. Everything was far too clean for this franchise. Too much shiny. Joss Whedon wrote a terrible script that does a disservice to the first three films. Giving Ripley superhuman powers was amazingly stupid. The new charaters, save Call, were all uninteresting and I couldn't wait for each of them to die. The photography work is terrible. Too many shots of the humans not being afraid at all. Here's why the 4th one fails: there is no sense of fear. Plain and simple. All of the other three had it, this one lacks it. I personally consider Aliens a trilogy. It ends with 3 and that's a satifying end to the story of Ripley. The 4th is a possible future where stupid things happen to good characters.

The Breakdown Begins this May.

Jean-Pierre Jeunet only agreed to direct the disaster that was Alien: Resurrection because he needed the money to help create his dream film, Le Fabuleux destin d'Am

The next question is: Which is the worst of the six films (including AVP and AVP:R)?

The Breakdown Begins this May.

AVP:R without a doubt, as its one of the worst films I've ever seen (and if you know the films I've watched, I've seen some doozies). Easily the worst film I saw that year.

I heard Michael Biehn (Hicks) and Carrie Henn (Newt) said no to Alien 3 so they killed them off so.. don't know for sure though.

I can't decide if my favorite is Alien or Aliens. I hated Resurrection.

I hearby declare AVP:R to be renamed Aliens vs Predator vs Dawson's Creek. F#*king teenagers swimming pool scene... my IQ dropped ten points after seeing that.

There was so much stupid in AvP:R, I'm not sure its possible to pinpoint a single instance over another.

True. It was like the Darwins...except for movies.

If anyone thinks that the Aliens in Aliens looked better than the real original Alien, is probably under 10 years old.

They did look better, the original had eyes so the actor could look out of it, the eyeless creatures of Aliens removed that human aspect making them more creepy/frightening.

Preference has nothing to do with age.

I agree. The xenomorphs in Aliens were very scary and much more icky (if that's possible).

Were the Aliens in Aliens a completely different breed or did they just look different because of their surroundings?

It had NO eyeholes at all. Anywhere.

That's the underskull you're talking about. The most brilliant peice of the alien design that was never used again.(Tom wodruff and Alec Gillis are stupid ****)

The alien's human aspect was the creepiest part. And the Biomechanical the second. When these were destroyed, the series went with it.

The aliens DID have eyeholes, that's why they have that stupid-ass giraffe neck.

Physical aspects of the aliens had as much to do with technical limitations as director preference. The original alien suit was very difficult to move in/inflexible, which is one of the primary reasons why it moves so slowly in the first film. For Aliens, the suits were made of much more flexible materials, so you see the aliens engaged in much faster movement. Things like the "stovepipes" were more just director preference.
