Xard
Comfortably Numb is one of these songs that sends shivers down my spine. Yeah, there's good reason why it is my all time favourite song. Awesome music and one of the most beautiful, haunting melodies ever written (by Gilmour), fabulous words (by Waters) and above all the guitar solo of all time (by Gilmour of course) Bob Dylan - Like A Rolling Stone This is another one of my all time favourites and def. in Top 5 songs of all time Hooow does it fee-eee-eeeeeel? Pop
Some free online hip-hop mixtapes, courtesy of AV Clubber Nathan Rabin. Busta Rhymes and the late J-Dilla - Dillagence ...Mick Boogie and Little Brother - And Justus For all (yessssss) Mark Ronson and Rhymefest - Man in the Mirror (a perhaps ill-advised Michael Jackson tribute... check out that awesome cover) And some Bishop Lamont mixtapes - N*gger Noise and Popemobile. The thing about rappers is that they're often wildly inconsistent. They might put out weak commercial output but more often than not, their best stuff is free and on a mixtape somewhere. Laozi
Well, In my opinion Bob Dylan and Roger Waters are two best lyricists of all time respectively If you really like Dylan then you might want to check out Ramblin' Jack Elliott. Dylan's pre-electric stuff is just Woody Guthrie songs sang in Ramblin' Jack's style, almost uncomfortably so. Bob Dylan ~ Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again Although I like this song this has always sort of been that one, where it seems like he really is just trying too hard. After this its pretty much smooth sailing until the '80s and his, I'm a Christian, no wait Jewish, hold on, Christian, no Jew, agnostic? period. Gromnir
Well, In my opinion Bob Dylan and Roger Waters are two best lyricists of all time respectively Which makes me wonder if I should make next part in the epic "favourite lyrics" series Also, check out this absolutely mad light show. Best version of Echoes I've ever heard and that is saying something john lennon wrote i am the walrus in part to kinda lampoon dylan and to spit in the eye of any of those folks trying to find deep meanings in nonsense. responding to some statement 'bout the genius o' dylan, lennon opined, "I can write this $h!7 too." HA! Good Fun! Laozi
Atleast we didn't get into how Pink Floyd is nothing more then a novelty band in the vein of Phish or GWar or Kiss. They have about as much depth as a room filled with black light posters and back issues of High Times. Live from Pompeii is the ultimate insult to the band video done in earnest. samm
I sort of recall something about this Dylan - issue Lennon had from a much hated biography I once read (by Goldman or someone). I think it claimed something along the lines of Gromnir to have been the opinion of Lennon for some time, but he changed his mind on the subject later. Also, I like the struggles of artists vs. interpretation Gary Numan - Hybrid Edited April 17, 2008 by samm Citizen of a country with a racist, hypocritical majority

I think it claimed something along the lines of Gromnir to have been the opinion of Lennon for some time, but he changed his mind on the subject later. Also, I like the struggles of artists vs. interpretation is possible that lennon changed mind later... however, as the interview we recollect were conducted in 1980... am gonna have to reread the interview again ourself as it has been many years since we last perused. typically Gromnir don't give a damn 'bout what artists thinks beyond their art. sure, we gots a beef with polanski, but typically it just not interest us what is the political views of an actor, or the philosophical motivations of a sculptor. nevertheless, we did read the lennon interview in part 'cause we is such a big fan o' walrus and we were informed that the interview in question set forth the artists motivations. to Gromnir it seemed as if lennon were having pulling a prank on folks with his walrus and we appreciated his sense o' whimsy. interview seemed to confirm. fact that he were taking a shot at dylan were just a bonus. keep in mind that over the years lennon seemingly contributed to the confusion surrounding walrus by coming up with differing explanations for the song. the interview in playboy may have come close to his death, but is possible that it is no more valid than any other o' his s'posed explanations.
