At the moment, that would make sense.

Thanks you Yu-Cheng for taking the time to share your concern - hopefully there will be some resolution for you and those who share this issue.

I would adress anything to do with Localization to ATARi. OE has nothing to do with that, to my knowledge.

If there is no clear indication, asume the post is written in jest. This notification is meant very seriously and its purpouse is to avoid misunderstandings and the consequences thereof. Taiwan ATARI say it is not his responsibility by use Chinese in Multiplayer.

From NeverWinter Night to NeverWinter Night2, Taiwan ATARI always throw about language to manufacturing company.

For example, Chinese for NeverWinter Night, is our try to Chinese, and then Taiwan ATARI use it, say it is their accomplishment, but China and Taiwan's people know it is accomplishment by 2 people : penguin and X-Liu.

When NeverWinter Night2, Taiwan ATARI don't have capable to Chinese. They visit China and our organization to solve it.

Taiwan's people very hate Taiwan ATARI, they always throw responsibility to other people.

This site say Taiwan Atari interpret is so bad to NeverWinter Night

http://zh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=...p;variant=zh-tw

The interpret of NeverWinter Night2 just soso, and female leading actor don't interpret.

We are very hate Taiwan ATARI.

It sucks to know that the franchise is being shoddily translated into Asian language.

As much as you hate to hear what I am going to say, I will suggest that you buy an English version of Neverwinter Nights 2 instead.

Yu-Cheng also mentioned that Chinese user were both unhappy

with the translation of NWN1 which translated by Taiwan ATARI,

coz it is unbelieveable suck!

It's known as "The Lauguage of Mars" or "kick teech grandmother"

http://zh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=...p;variant=zh-tw

Can't you see the same dialog and the terrible number"67749"?

It's the dialog First greeting with Linu La'neral,

The idiom "kicked my teeth in" means "ignore",

but in the picture as you see, it translated as "kick my teeth "!

I'm a Chinese User , but I can't read the terrible translation in NWN1, I can't get the meaning of the dialog...

It's not a regular Chinese, the grammer is totally wrong and easily confused...

ALL the translation in NWN1 just like these!!

The Reason of the bad quality was that the Taiwan ATARI used "translation software"

ONLY...

Lastly, the Most Important thing is that we still can't UPDATE

if we used Chinses version, the problem still not be fixed until now !!

We had reported since v1.00, now we freeze in v1.10,

Taiwan ATARI just said that they will fixed it ,

they just deny that they are responsible.

PLEASE HELP US, WE NEED HELP !!

Wow, that's horrible. That must be impossible to understand.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure what we can do - the localisation is SUPPOSED to be done by the publisher (Atari), but if Taiwan Atari are dragging their feet...

The only way to get good localisation is to do it yourself (fan-fixes) or force Taiwan Atari to do it, but I'm not sure how that could be done. I don't think Obsidian Entertainment would be able to put that much pressure on Atari, much less Taiwan Atari. I do sympathise, though - do you have any suggestions on how we can help? I suppose its good at least to put the word about and make people realise.

I really hate to hear that "why don't you go buy an En verion one"

coming out of the community.

It's incredibly irresponsible. How? 'coz Atari is selling their product oversea,

and as long as they do so, they are responsible for their whatever version

of the game. As I notice in the first post, it's a simple code problem that

the devs should have solved it years ago.

The crash happens when typing in multiplayer mode which doesn't happens

as single player.

As what I've acknowledged, they've inform Ob so many times since the

game first came out, and all the answer they've got is "We'll forword this

to the devs" and then the stone lies down to the bottom of the sea.

I personally mailed Robert McGinnis two times in the past 8 months, and

him, for sure I believe, reported it to the devs. However, it eventually goes

silence as well.

As an American, I feel pathetic for those who think as the world is still running

around U.S.A. Atari discovered a potential market in asia, in order to keep it

and develop it, they really need to pay more attention on these clients.

In addition, those DnD lovers who devoted themselves into building PWs in

Asia are the true NWN2 diffuser. Mabe they couldn't discuss with us on the

community board due to the language problem, but they deserve the same

respect as the other builders, not the marginalization.

The reason why the complain went here is because they had tried

to post on the community board already where the last post indicated.

I personally posted in "Builders: NWN2 Persistent Worlds & Multiplayer"

and "NWN 2 Technical Support (Self-Help) " categories several times,

however, I got no affirmative answers.

btw, Merry Christmas to everyone.

Actually, the translation problem of NWN1, we HAVE DONE it ourselves.

We throw that terrible dialog into rubbish bin and translated it by those zealous players on http://www.pcfit.idv.tw/nwn2/ ... Mymag,Yazhi,Kaichong,Nickexe,X-liu ...

If we have not done it ourselves, we shall have tormented by those terrilbe dialog from translation sofeware since now...

-----------------------------

Taiwan Atari is known as a "Non-Helpful" company, it's sorry to complain so directly to you, it's because we are hopeless (may be faithless...).

Unfortunately, I'm not sure what we can do - the localisation is SUPPOSED to be done by the publisher (Atari), but if Taiwan Atari are dragging their feet...

Actually, we had collected some signatures before, we hoped that Taiwan Atari can transmit this bug to Obsidian , we even hoped that the bugs can be fixed before the Chinese MotB Expansion released .

However , as you know , the bugs still exist, even you Obsidian don't know this bug!!!

http://www.pcfit.idv.tw/nwn2bug/index.php?...=2&blogId=1

Besides posting message on the forum , collecting signatures, I can't see what we can do .

I don't think Obsidian Entertainment would be able to put that much pressure on Atari,

We know Obsidian would not be able to put that much pressure on Atari and Taiwan Atari , but it's the best solution this problem would be solved.

Would you mind telling me what's the problem ?

Taiwan Atari? Obsidian ? Or the Players ?

-----------------

Please think highly of our problems !

Thanks all especially Fionavar and Tigranes.

Anyways, Thank you for your replies and Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas to everybody indeed!

I was not trying to suggest that the complaint does not belong here - I think it is appropriate right here. I merely suggested posting it also on the forums I linked in order to maximise the number of developers and company representatives who get to see it.

Following this with interest. I'm sure I speak for all of us in a hearty welcome to the Chinese language fans, and fully support getting this fixed.
