Magister Lajciak Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 You can vote for the Mask of the Betrayer as Gamespot's RPG PC game of the year here: http://pc.gamespy.com/articles/841/841078p1.html Also, don't forget to vote for the MotB as Gamespot's overall PC game of the year: http://pc.gamespy.com/articles/840/840091p1.html The Mask of the Betrayer deserves both titles!
SteveThaiBinh Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Gamespy, you mean. Has Gamespot not shut down yet? "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Magister Lajciak Posted December 17, 2007 Author Posted December 17, 2007 Gamespy, you mean. Has Gamespot not shut down yet? Mea culpa! Yes, I do mean GameSpy.
Gorth Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Euww... it want's me to register before it will let me vote  “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Magister Lajciak Posted December 17, 2007 Author Posted December 17, 2007 Euww... it want's me to register before it will let me vote  Yes, and I hate registrations too, but for the sake of MotB I think it is worth registering. Registration is free and it also enables you to download stuff from fileplanet, which often gets things like game demos first.
Istima Loke Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 heh, I usually have a spare mail address for that kind of stuff... I think therefore I am? Could be! Or is it really someone else Who only thinks he's me?
Magister Lajciak Posted December 17, 2007 Author Posted December 17, 2007 heh, I usually have a spare mail address for that kind of stuff... Same here! I think most people do it that way.
Magister Lajciak Posted December 18, 2007 Author Posted December 18, 2007 Let's keep on voting! The results will be announced on 20 December 2007.
Xard Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Bah, Orange Box will win anyway if anything makes sense How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)
Magister Lajciak Posted December 18, 2007 Author Posted December 18, 2007 No reason to give up hope yet - voting is still open so let's make use of it!
SteveThaiBinh Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I voted. I even remembered my password, which is impressive since I probably last used it to vote in the same thing 12 months ago and I usually can't find my keys in the morning. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Magister Lajciak Posted December 18, 2007 Author Posted December 18, 2007 That's the spirit! I also sometimes have trouble remembering passwords of sites I rarely visit or where I seldom log in. It is truly annoying that so many sites require registration these days.
Gorth Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Ok, created an account and voted. I didn't seem to get any kind of confirmation that it acknowledged my vote though. Is this normal? “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Magister Lajciak Posted December 19, 2007 Author Posted December 19, 2007 Ok, created an account and voted. I didn't seem to get any kind of confirmation that it acknowledged my vote though. Is this normal? As long as it moved you to the next category of voting, I think it is normal. As a side note - there are two relevant categories for us: The PC RPG of the Year ... and... the Overall PC Game of the Year
Gorth Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Voted Mask of the Betrayer for both I still think I need to buy the Witcher some day though... I just need a bigger PC “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Magister Lajciak Posted December 19, 2007 Author Posted December 19, 2007 Voted Mask of the Betrayer for both So did I of course! I still think I need to buy the Witcher some day though... I just need a bigger PC Well, I guess it does seem to be getting good publicity.
Pidesco Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Voted Mask of the Betrayer for both I still think I need to buy the Witcher some day though... I just need a bigger PC If your PC can run MotB, it should be able to run The Witcher. Tale Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Witcher is a little more demanding than Mask. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Tigranes Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Yeah. If you were hanging on literally by the ends of your fingers for MOTB, probably not Witcher, but I can for example play both at low settings. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
Tale Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 http://goty.gamespy.com/2007/gamerschoice/9.html 4th place with 11%. Not bad for a game with no hype or publicity. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Xard Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Yay, that's awesome! Without WoW expansion pack The Witcher would've won and MotB would've been third (Dumbvilion's xpack winning with just 1% ). Awesome Gamespots poll on the other hand is ****. Options: Eternal Sonata, Mass Effect, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3, Super paper Mario and the The Witcher Only two RPG's on that list and one PC game. What the ****, since when Mario has been roleplaying game? ME has already over 50 % of votes but TW is second with over 30 % Link How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)
Tale Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 (edited) Paper Mario is a spiritual successor to Super Mario RPG. They use the contemporary computer game RPG definition, which goes to include all of those games. Edited December 21, 2007 by Tale "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Xard Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 I thought this newest one for wii stripped away remnants of jrpgness? How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)
Tale Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 I thought this newest one for wii stripped away remnants of jrpgness? Still features an experience and equipment system, just like previous Paper Mario games. So, the answer to "since when" is "since the SNES." "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
