Pidesco
Yes. I used to start a chat with every female person I could find on IRC way back when I was 16. "Hi" and "m/f" were always the first things I typed. And if the answer was "male", the third thing I'd type would be "Bye." Pidesco
Which reminds me that for a while my IRC nick was Anarch and, because of that, I'd have lots of clueless guys chatting me up because they thought I was a gal named Ana. And quite a few of those, after I said I was a guy, wouldn't believe me and kept going at it, convinced that I was lying about my gender. It didn't help that my nick was at the top of the list. That often also happens if you add "ie" to your nick. E.g. "Krezzie". They must be quite desperate. I've established an unofficial Obsidian IRC channel. Humodour
Err... are we limited to a certain number of edits per post? Anyhoo: If you don't know what IRC is, or need a client to join the channel, visit here and download mIRC. It's free and friendly. Any other questions, post them here. Musopticon?
I use IRC, good that you took the incentive to kick this up. I'm "Muser" there. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. theslug
I use mIRC but for more devious and perverse purposes.... long live pr0n There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.

Humodour
In the next week or so, there won't be so many people there most of the time, so if you just idle that'd be great... it's kind of like a "you need money to make money" sort of thing. Nobody is going to stick around if nobody is there.

LadyCrimson
I don't anymore, but before the internet was 'all the rage' and filled with multimedia doohickeys, I used IRC a lot. It is a fun extenstion of forums. Maybe if I have time/feel motivated to install mIRC again I'll try popping in sometime. No promises tho. “Things are as they are.
