Musopticon?
So, the Akira fps does it again. Admittedly, it does look like FEAR 1.5, but I wouldn't mind more of the same since FEAR was so tasty, not to mention that Comdemned was impressive. Monolith are just becoming better and better. Still, I'd like Shogo 2. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Morgoth
The graphics are very chic. You can't expect more as long there isn't better hardware available. It's all about how you can convey technical improvements into the gameplay, and not the outside details alone. And yeah, I hope they'll once manage to do another Shogo game. Maybe there's hope for the third game they've in development. Rain makes everything better.
Musopticon?
Yeah, you can't really improve without implementing new technology at this point, I was just making a passing comment that the palette of shadows and textures they're a using is very reminiscent of FEAR, a bit too much even. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. WILL THE ALMIGHTY
That is one sexy slow-motion effect. But what the heck is the story? Edited October 6, 2007 by WILL THE ALMIGHTY "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!" Morgoth
Not much details have been revealed so far, except that the game takes place in a fictional US city that is haunted by Alma, and Alma (since she broke out in FEAR) is now about to rage and rock the world. Not much is known about the PC either, except that you aren't playing the Pointman this time. Maybe you play her pissed Emo-brother? Edited October 6, 2007 by Morgoth Rain makes everything better. WILL THE ALMIGHTY
Woah, wait. Ninjas? You can't be the crap out of ninjas! Maybe a single ninja, but not mutliple ninjas. That's suicide. No no no, you got it all backwards. Ninjas grow exponentially more powerful the fewer there are so you won't have any problems wasting the first 20 or so. It's the last one that'll be a bitch to take down..
WILL THE ALMIGHTY
Oh. I see. It all makes sense now. SO you get to play a ninja in Origin? "Alright, I've been thinking. GreasyDogMeat
When I first heard of F.E.A.R. I was hoping it would be something like the X-Files, where each 'chapter' would involve fighting/investigating some different paranormal event. I've been kind of disapointed about the entire focus on Alma (the freaky girl) and the entire game taking place in warehouses and offices. I hope they open up the environments more... maybe a spooky forest or something...

Calax
the office buildings and such fit the scenario. I know we're going to see more as the first part of the game of P:O will take place in Armachan HQ. the second part will be trying to survive after the destruction of Almas home. Tale
Despite being such a fanboy for this game I have yet to watch any trailers. So, is Warner Bros. going to be the one publishing this? I know they own Monolith now, but I also see that Sega published Condemned 2 instead of WB. This may be one of two games I upgrade my PC for. I know it's probably not too demanding on specs, but it may still be slighty too much for my PC. And this is hopefully assuming that it's coming to the PC without delay. Sweet, looks like they may have upgraded the melee. Edited March 16, 2008 by Tale "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater." Morgoth
Yes, it seems like WBI wants to get serious about game publishing now, with PO their first big assignment, so to speak. It surely doesn't make huge leaps forward graphics wise, but I'm rather glad they keep it that way. They more importantly direct their attention to the visceral gun fights and AI aspects, which should become a lot better than in FEAR. Rain makes everything better. Musopticon?
Fighting giant mechsuits and psychic adolescents as a genetically enhanced supersoldier in a post-apocalyptic hellscape of a ruined city? I've yet to see such an unorthodox, almost ridiculous premise anywhere outside anime. And I love it! Edited March 17, 2008 by Musopticon? kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears.
