Atreides Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Adam Brennecke: (http://neverwinternights.forumfree.net/?t=19266809&st=0)I enjoy playing soccer and travelling. We just started a soccer team at Obsidian. We aren't very good yet, but we are getting better every week This got my interest up because I like watching EPL and playing myself. Who's in the team, who plays where and stuff like that? I'm a fast myself, preferring left forward or central mid but I can play striker. People have stuck my on central defence lately though because we need to plug holes, and speed's useful there. Spreading beauty with my katana.
Alvin Nelson Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 I play from time to time. Let me get back to sleeping. I'm tired... Avatar made by Jorian Drake

Atreides Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 Try playing 5v5 indoor soccer. I find it works great for numbers like yours and short passing and movement. Everyone gets the ball more often too. Spreading beauty with my katana.

Jack_Wellington Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Soccer is cool! It is also a very nice upgrade from softball (soft + ball = bad sport)...
Guest The Architect Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Like, who will you {referring to this Obsidian football team} be playing against? Other game developers' football teams or something?
Alvin Nelson Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 A nearby city league. so anyone who wants to play, really. And softball is awesome too! I play both. Let me get back to sleeping. I'm tired... Avatar made by Jorian Drake
J.E. Sawyer Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Like, who will you {referring to this Obsidian football team} be playing against? Other game developers' football teams or something? We had our first game this Tuesday and were soundly destroyed. However, we did have some moments of heroism. Moments that were lost in time like teardrops in a 7-0 loss. We didn't have our jerseys, so we were playing ghetto style with black t-shirts and duct tape numbers. The jerseys came today, so I'm sure next week we will thrash the competition. twitter tyme
Jack_Wellington Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 7-0... Stop working and practice in the office! Obsidian reputation is at stake!
Cantousent Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 7-0? I told you guys that the peewee girlscout team was a tough bunch, but did you believe me? Noooooooo. seriously, you've got to be kidding. I'm an old guy with Asthma and I could do better than that! Hell, one of your players walks up and down the hall practicing soccer all day. Forget the heroics and kick the ball somewhere... like towards the other teams goalposts. Gorth Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Yeah, forget about influence system and what have you. The critical path of the game is finding the contested object (the ball) and in true fed-ex style deliver it behind the line in the enemy goal! “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt.
