Tale Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Super Mario RPG was hot, here's hoping it is anything at all like that. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Sand Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Wouldn't surprise me if it iwas. Bioware is to the West what Square Enix is to the East. Musopticon? Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Wouldn't surprise me if it iwas. Bioware is to the West what Square Enix is to the East. That is actually a fairly good parallel. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Sand Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 (edited) Sega is doing pretty well in my opinion. Its good for the to just focus on games instead of making consoles, even though I did prefer the Sega consoles over the Nitendo's. If Atari should fall Sega should take over the DnD franchise. karka Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Well, SE is a much bigger company. Comparing them with EA is more appropriate.

Musopticon? Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I meant it in the sense of both having to release a countless amount of crap to provide funds for the the very few diamonds in the rough. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Sand Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Now if Sega and EA merged... Pidesco Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Wouldn't surprise me if it iwas. Bioware is to the West what Square Enix is to the East. That is actually a fairly good parallel. Except that Bioware isn't making Baldur's Gate 13. "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian tourist I am Dan Quayle of the Romans. I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands. Xard Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 How was this "Mario RPG"? I'm lost how to make "western RPG" about Sonic or Mario. and what's NDS? How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)
Tale Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 (edited) How was this "Mario RPG"? I'm lost how to make "western RPG" about Sonic or Mario. and what's NDS? Super Mario RPG was absolutely awesome. It's not western, however. It's the only game I know of where Mario and Bowser fight on the same side. One of his weapons is a throw glove where he'll throw Mario to attack the enemy. And when you're fighting to reclaim Bowser's castle, if he's in your party most of the enemies will just run away. Xard Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Ah, I thought it was some pimped out DS or something Yeah, I figured out Mario was not "western RPG", but those are what Bio has always made. Are they trying to emulate JRPG's or what? How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)
Tale Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 (edited) They're working with a japanese company on a japanese franchise, so I can't imagine it being western. Besides, it seems lately they're moving towards action RPGs which are more popular in the east anyway. I could definitely see Sonic being an action RPG, even if in a western vein. Oerwinde Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Finally a game I might actually buy for my DS. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.

Pop Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 (edited) Terrible idea. I highly doubt that Bioware can stop Sonic's downward spiral. Last time they tried to have Sonic with a plot it was ****. Terrible, terrible idea. Just... Jesus. They dropped Star Wars and D&D for this? Edited June 21, 2007 by Pop Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
karka Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 No, they dropped Star Wars and D&D for Mass Effect and Dragon Age.
Pop Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Didn't they say they were no longer going to work on non-in-house IPs? It's a peculiar exception to make. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!

Hurlshort Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I doubt a DS title takes that many resources away from a large development house like Bioware.
