1. If I see another air-vent i'm gonna puke. After having played FEAR and Halflife, and the new Doom/Quake my vent crawling quota has been filled for several lifetimes.

 

 

2. No new incarnations of the Alien Queen, or predalien or whatever. The half human Ripley/Alien queen in Resurrection, I think we can all agree, was an absolute low point.

Do not expect to be able to compliment H. R. Giger and be successful at it.

 

 

3. Weed out the worst of the new creations to come out of the AVP experience. Ideally, just pretend nothing happened after Aliens.

You have a problem with the Aliens taking on attributes of their hosts?

Not at all, just as long as the hosts aren't crab faced dreadlock having wifebeater t-shirt wearing WWF wrestler jokes.

 

I'll be even more plain, absolutely no Predators in my Aliens please. Predators over here and Aliens over there, never the two shall meet.

 

The dog Alien in Alien 3 suffered from none of the idiocy of Predalien or half human gene spliced space muppet Alien queen, just as a for instance.

It's been stated this covers only the Alien/Aliens license. Not the Predator or AVP licenses.

Half the suspense of Alien was in the small spaces and blind corners. That scene where the Captain is crawling around and being stalked, for instance.

You could easily make the game without such, but I don't know if I'd feel like it was Alien-like without at least a few good vent-crawls or something similar. Although, in an RPG ... your party, assuming you had one, crawling behind you? Heh ... that would be odd.

Because if it doesn't have realistic vent crawling, my interest in this game will be effectively halved! Yes!

It doesen't work in computer games though, there is no supspense in it, it's just annoying. See Halflife, FEAR etc.

The first half of the [very excit]ing game was dragging yourself through one toilet after another. The suspense in Halflife didn't come from blindly pushing yourself through vents. It was the AI and the overall atmosphere. Halflife 2 was the same, for the first 2 hours crank the brigthness all the way up and be prepared to stare at the textures at ultra close range.

I'm not understanding how you are equating vents and bad from that statement. Are you suggesting that the Half-Lifes would have been just as good, without vent-crawling?

 

How would you redesign it, if that were the case, without vents?
