astr0creep Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Sometimes I just hate hockey. Leafs lead 2-0 for 57.30. Then they suddenly let in two goals, the last one with less than 30 seconds to go. Then they lose in overtime to top it all off! It could be worse. You could be a Habs fan... http://entertainmentandbeyond.blogspot.com/
Volourn Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 I gots one thing to say.... LONG LIVE THE KING! DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.

Kor Qel Droma Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 So Chris Simon gets 30 games for trying to amputate Jarkko Ruutus' ankle with his skate. Personally, I think the league is doing a good thing, for if they banned Simon entirely he'd just end up maiming everyday people on the street. And besides, hasn't every player in the NHL wanted to inflict a serious wound on Ruutu at one point or another? Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
Hurlshort Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 I'm impressed with the way the Islanders organization is handling the incident. They are basically sending him to counseling and making it very clear how against his actions they are. It's supportive of the player and stern at the same time.
Kor Qel Droma Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Yeah, you can tell Mike Milbury isn't in the Isles front office anymore. He would have patted Simon on the back and then told him the next time to go beat up some fans in their seats instead. Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
mkreku Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Ruutu is funny. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!

Hurlshort Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 I read about it earlier, but it was a good show by Crosby. He definitely fights better than Gretzky. He got one real solid shot in.
mkreku Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 I.. I think we won one! Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Hurlshort Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 Last night I was at the hockey rink and they were doing a radio show with Jamie Baker (the one who scored the upset goal for the Sharks against Detroit so many years ago.) The Sharks had just lost 4-2 to Anaheim, and I asked him on the air who I think they will replace Ron Wilson with as coach. He gave a pretty good answer, basically stating that who has more experience that doesn't have a job right now?
Qwerty the Sir Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 Heh, Jamie Baker and San Jose 1994... That guy and that team had Bowman yelling ******* prima-donna to Yzerman and was the start of two years of hell for Stevie Y.
mkreku Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 No Christmas presents from the Leafs.. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Deraldin Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Ouch. When did Ottawa pick up Lalime again?
mkreku Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Apparently we won one again! Not that I noticed since my system was probably full of alcohol when the game was on. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Hurlshort Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 The Open Ice Classic was incredibly good. It snowed pretty much the entire time. I hope they never stop doing this type of game. Anything that gets 70,000 people out to watch it is never a bad thing, especially for the NHL which is struggling to gain attention. Crosby is awesome. He'll be a good ambassador for the game, possibly as good as Gretzky, and that's more important than anything he does on the ice. Although I think Ryan Miller deserved the win, he played awesome.
Deraldin Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 The shootout was pretty impressive especially when you consider that nearly all of them lost the puck when it went through a pile of snow.
Kor Qel Droma Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 I didn't watch the game, but I saw the Sabres wore there purdy retro jerseys. Much nicer than those baby blue Penguin things. Also, Edmonton wins for the first time in seven games!! Thank gawd! Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.

Kor Qel Droma Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 One win in eight games and ownership drama. It's tough to be an Oiler fan right now. Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.

mkreku Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Swedish juniors lost to the defending champions Canada in sudden death. But I must say they played well above expected! Great tournament by the Swedish youngsters! It's been a pleasure watching the games. And it's not often that a Swedish junior team outmuscles a Canadian team It was fun to see. Remember the name Victor Hedman (even if he had one crappy game tonight..). You'll be seeing a lot more of him in the NHL in 4-5 years. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!

Wouldn't want to beat you guys too badly. I only managed to catch the first two periods.
