Tel Aviv Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Back to atease for me, I think. Tis not what it once was though, times, they have a changed. I used to be big man on campus, now I'm little Johnny Small-Fry.
Dark_Raven Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 What if the boards become massive and bloated due to Obsidian's success? A Bioware clone. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Bokishi Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 I don't think the invision software can handle 5 million bio-weenie posterz Current 3DMark
kirottu Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 *For those of you that are worried about OE's imminent death, here is the beta-failsafe site, The Atomic Danger Squad. Maybe bookmark that or something. But I warn you about going there needlessly, as it is not for the faint of heart. TADS is only for those chosen few. This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.

Guard Dog Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Just curious, is there anything to this other than "what if"? Obsidian has only made two titles and both have been succsesful. Not like they are laying eggs here. But if it happens, I've seen a few of you guys on other forums around the web. Musopticon? Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 There is nothing else besides the "what if"-factor. Obsidian is doing well. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Blank Posted March 19, 2007 Author Posted March 19, 2007 (edited) This sort of gauges for me how big a part the OE forum community plays in your time on the internet. I also think this gives some insurance for the community we have, even if you think it's impossible for Obsidian to go out of business. Edited March 19, 2007 by Blank

astr0creep Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I come to these boards for the community only. I barely touched NWN2(bugs) and I felt KotOR 2 was rushed to a point that it hindered my enjoyment of the game. This forum is the best managed forum I've ever been to. The community is tight, smart and funny, irrelevant posts or posters are quickly removed or reprimanded(compared to other places), all the features are easy to use, the interface is clean, simple and attractive. For these and many other reasons, I don't know what I would do if Obsidian would close shop and these boards would go away. I'd probably try to use my blog space to reproduce a similar experience as I get here because the other forums I visit frequently, BSG and some french newspaper forums, are not nearly as smart and interesting as this one is. Not by a long shot. In any case, I would certainly be very sad. http://entertainmentandbeyond.blogspot.com/
alanschu Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 (edited) I suspect my life would be relatively unaffected. Given I've already grown disenfranchised with the forum, I'd probably only notice when reading about Obsidian going under. Though undoubtedly I'd bump into the odd familiar alias at times, for better or worse. Edited March 19, 2007 by alanschu

Dark_Raven Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I would just return to the BG modding forums and post there full time again. There's always Bioware to hang out also. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.

kirottu Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I don't think the invision software can handle 5 million bio-weenie posterz It would break under the pressure. Certain Naruto forum has more people online than Bioware every freaking minute and it works just fine. Level of discussion on the other hand is totally different thing.
