theslug
yeah i want to take some roids since im too lazy to do cardio and i can get lean without running but id most likely just develop a horrible case of backne and become a fat slob of a sob. It's really tragic. There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.
Shryke
Monty Python's King Arthur and the Holy Grail ooh i got that on dvd the other day. i love the LEGO knights of the round table scene Children of Dune that the miniseries one? i've been thinking about grabbing that as well. it was pretty good (and the chick who plays Alia is hot) when your mind works against you - fight back with substance abuse! theslug
Watched Casino Royale. Another pos bond movie. So cliche and so horrible. When will they learn that full auto machine guns vs one man with a hand gun is not good cinema. The very begining turned me off from the start. The black and white had 0 artistic purpose and was just irrelevant. I will say however that this time the plot wasn't end of the world horribly retarded like all the rest of them. That being said bond didn't sleep with nearly as many women as he should have but still the movie failed with having no real plot or story. Even for an action movie it was devoid of any thrill or suspense. Multiple times I paused it or let it run while I browsed the internet. This is just another reason why I hate hollywood and people who think this garbage is good. I've seen a number of negative reviews for Casino Royale, however none that hated the entire thing. I thought that the movie was decent enough. It just didn't feel like the Bond that I'm used to, but that's because the only Bond I know is Brosnan. I left the theatre slightly disappointed overall. I though the Sony product placement was far too blatant, which really brought me out of the movie.
theslug
****SPOILERS***** Well I am being a little too harsh. I mean I did sit through the entire thing, there were good things in the movie but nothing to make up for the entirety. I mean it's "little" things, like he gets poisoned at the poker game (who poisons people these days anyways?) and oh look at that he just so happens to have a universal antidote type thing and defibrillator in his car, how appropriate. Not to mention I was confused on who was who during the movie. It wasn't even the good kind of well whose that guy and whats his real motive either, it was just hey here[']s this unknown character who has ties to bond and some other people and let[']s throw a few more in for good measure even though everyone is pretty much a bad guy in these films and either disappears or dies with no real explanation. GreasyDogMeat
The Island. I have to say, the first two thirds of the movie had me thinking it was going to become one of my all time favorite movies. Unfortunatly like a lot of movies it became too preachy and started getting some goofy fluffy twists. For no apparent reason the brutally efficient hunter trying to capture the two main characters decides to get a conscience at the last second despite murdering someone not 20 minutes earlier in the film. A real shame, the movie had me engaged wondering what was going on in the first third of the movie, then on the edge of my seat the second third with the crazy chases and then in a 'meh' state for the last third. Either way, the freeway chase scene alone was worthing watching the movie for.
LadyCrimson
16 Blocks. Caught on cable while eating dinner. Strange little movie. The rapper dudes character was annoying, in an exasperating yet tolerable way. I couldn't tell if it his talkin' all the time was supposed to be funny or not - I didn't think so. Had a preposterous plot, of course - even moreso than most action movies. But kinda entertaining anyway. At least for free. “Things are as they are. Tale
Apparently I posted this in the wrong thread. I watched Robotech: Shadow Chronicles earlier today. Dissapointing in that the movie was basically a setup for a new Robotech chapter that will probably not see the light of day, even though it is planned. Also disappointing was that it was created specifically for the north american market, yet the lip syncing is so bad it looks dubbed. Animation was pretty good though. Yeah, the special features pretty much said "We wanted to do a new series, but didn't want the networks to tell us how to do everything" so they made the movie as kind of a pitch to networks. Cartoon Network should snap that **** up, as well as the broadcast rights to the old school one, then air them back to back. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity. ghosta
Just saw 300 on saturday and It was prity good except the movie was only about 60% historically acurate and the power of the Persian empire was streched a litle too much for my liking. I turned over and saw it one night when I hadn't even heard it had been filmed and thought "Hmmm, this is familiar, isn't this Dune? Where's Kyle MacLachlan and Sting?" Happily, they were both absent. I'm almost glad the first film was such a disaster - I've heard they'd intended to make the full six books before it bombed, and MacLachlan had actually signed up for that. Though the closing credits music was rather good. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Oerwinde
My only problem with the Dune miniseries was Alec Newman. Awful actor. Just terrible. Everyone else was fantastic except him. Which sucked since he was the main character. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
Musopticon?
Yeah, he was dull, but didn't degrade the series for me. Fortunately, Children of Dune doesn't have him very much and the parts he's in, he plays a minor role. Edited March 26, 2007 by Musopticon? kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Oerwinde
speaking of cool miniseries... did anyone see the Lost Room a while back? I'm hoping they expand it into a full season or at least a sequel miniseries. They left the ending wide open. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity. I saw lots of trailers and it seemed like an interesting idea, but I wasn't really in the right mood when it came on so I decided to leave it in case it's good, rather than spoil it for myself. So you liked it, then? It seemed like another of these series with a fine balancing act to do between over-explaining and over-complicating the mystery. Cantousent
I took a day when I didn't have to drive on vacation to watch a movie. I walked around the lake, took pictures of various waterfowl, and then relaxed to a nice viewing of War of the Worlds. Since I was expecting it to be bad, I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't a great film by any means, but it wasn't really so bad. I'd heard that it sucked. I found the ads for it didn't even come close to giving you an idea of what the show was about. The ads were like "OMG MAGIC ROOM!" while in reality the room is little more than a means of transportation in the series. And they barely touch on the mystery in the series. The mystery is very much intact at the end, while they explain enough of it to both leave you satisfied, but also wanting more. I took a day when I didn't have to drive on vacation to watch a movie. It wasn't a great film by any means, but it wasn't really so bad. I'd heard that it sucked. I found that it focused way too much on Tom Cruise and his screaming kids than on the actual conflict. The old school like 60s version I think was done in a much more satisfying way. Also... I find it stupid that the aliens getting sick somehow caused their crazy war machines to malfunction. If they just stopped moving because the aliens got sick and died, believable. But their shields shouldn't stop working just because they're sick. LadyCrimson
Curious George. Yes, I was a big fan of those books when I was a wee lass. I even had a George plush toy. The movie itself was well animated, and after a slow first 30 minutes became more entertaining. Nothing groundbreaking, but it's kinda cute if you grew up w/George. And at least they didn't turn George into a talking monkey. “Things are as they are.
