Diego Varen Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 (edited) I heard about his death, yesterday. It is sad that he died around the winter season. I always liked the "I Feel Good" song. He'll be missed. RIP James Brown, the king of soul Edited December 26, 2006 by Diego Varen

alanschu Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 So some coke he couldn't handle, then? I always thought he was a psychotropic fiend. PCP can mess you up bad. But it's sad (telling?) that he'll probably be known more for his vices than the occasional amazing song he'd make, or the dancing that made him a legend. I'd be all cynical and say he won't be remembered fondly ala Ray Charles because he didn't "white up" his music so much, but he made just as many clunkers towards the end as Ray did. Shame. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm betting he'll be remembered as the Godfather of Soul.
Pop Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 I don't know. Kids these days are more acquainted with his mug shot (there it is on the first page) than his music, even as ubiquitous as "I Feel Good" is. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!

Musopticon? Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 RIP James Brown. May he wage his ubiquitous mojo on the divine hinterlands too. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears.
