November 10, 200619 yr Author I'm not reading all that tech-drool-speak. *skims to the end* The one thing we just have not been able to test are DirectX 10 titles and that's really what this card is all about. I adore the 8800 GTS yet I love the GeForce 8800 GTX on DX9, but I can only predict that it's going to rock at DX10. And until Microsoft Vista is released, I still owe you another review with DX10 titles. Well that answers one curiousity I was having - you can test the card but not the DX10 part, yet. Nonetheless... You start playing your games with a monitor that supports 1600x1200 and then enable 4xAA and 16xAF. I have been playing Prey for a while at a resolution of 2560x1600 (and that's 500% more pixels over 1024x768!) at 53 frames per second with every possible setting in the game set to HIGH. So I enabled 16xAA and at that same resolution I was still playing with an average of 34 FPS. If you are stuck at 1600x1200, 16xAA and 16xAF will get you 67 FPS. I want that card. :D Still gaming with my 9900k/2080ti/32 ram. One day I suppose a game may inspire me to finally upgrade. Maybe.

November 10, 200619 yr There was a wee recall due to a resistor issue, but I understand NVidia is/has taken care of it. I'll be getting this card for NWN2 and Half-Life 2 (with the cinematic hi-res texture mod), and for Dragon Age later.

It doesnt really matter how big your engine is when the parking break is stuck. November 10, 200619 yr Yeah, this card rocks. One thing noted in the first review is that it scales with the processor, which should be obvious. If the hardware can't get the data into the GPU fast enough, framerates will stall. Thus the card won't do that well on my current system, but later when I upgrade the mobo and cpu, the gpu will grow with them.

It seemed that Nvidia was rushing it, i wonder what kind of corners they might have cut if any? I know for sure they didn't cut the price. These price tags are ridicules.
