Surreptishus Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/5375900.stm The world's first specially-bred hypoallergenic cats have gone on sale in the United States.US biotech firm Allerca says it has managed to selectively breed them by reducing a certain type of protein that triggers allergic reactions.es The cats will not cause the red eyes, sneezing and even asthma that some cat allergy sufferers experience, except in the most acute cases. If I am not mistaken, LadyCrimson should appreciate this new type of kittah
metadigital Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 There is also a vaccine too ... OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT
Surreptishus Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 Cool, that should help with the most acute cases.
Krookie Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Even when you could find one in the parking lot under a car with a broken leg, take it in, and name it Oliver?!!?
kumquatq3 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 But a $4000 kitty?!?!? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know! For $4,000 I want it to play Blue-Ray
Shadowstrider Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 $4000 dollar kitties need love too.
LadyCrimson Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 If I am not mistaken, LadyCrimson should appreciate this new type of kittah Heh, yeah, I probably would. But I'll wait for them to show up in the bargain bin...maybe $1000. It's interesting to find out the allergies are from a protein thingie that can be genetically eliminated. I'll be keen on seeing if owners actually think it reduces/eliminates their furry allergies. It would be so nice to be able to hug a cat again w/out getting all sneezy and blotchy and be able to snuggle with them in bed again. “Things are as they are. Arkan Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Even when you could find one in the parking lot under a car with a broken leg, take it in, and name it Oliver?!!? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There's no reason to name a cat Oliver "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta
Arkan Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 It was a good movie man. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah. I know all about that movie. <_< "Of course the people don't want war. LadyCrimson Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 As long as it's not named "Pooky" or "Fluffy" “Things are as they are. Looking out into the universe at night, we make no comparisons between right and wrong stars, nor between well and badly arranged constellations.” – Alan Watts
Daaave Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 My two cats are named Bunny and Goldfish. Seriously. \o/ Just because you're a bit thinner than your even fatter mum it doesn't mean you're in excellent physical shape, if you could fit through the door and view the normal people you'd notice that cheeseburger boy. Squid suck.
Checkpoint Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 $4000 dollar kitties need love too. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not as much love as whoever pays $4000. ^Yes, that is a good observation, Checkpoint. /God

I have no allergy, so I am perfectly able to have cats stealing my best (Harrods Russian Goose Down) pillows and/or sleeping on my head.
