Darque Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Pruned a little... the arugment is over, find something else to fight over...
213374U Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Just how bad WAS FOBOS anyway? Not cringe-worthy, but merely unremarkable. Bland, boring. Not even the "b00bies" make up for it. I'm sure you can find better uses for your money. And FOT was infinitely better. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
alanschu Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 It's too bad FOT didn't have a coop mode (through the campaign). I would have picked it up in a second then.

greylord Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Okay, well I think I've been convinced not to get it myself, maybe lay a hint and if someone gets it for christmas, then no money of mine spent. If/when I hate it I can just toss it...or give it away. However, I'm not going to get it now due to what everyone is saying here. Not wanting to start anything, but since I haven't played...in brief...why is so many people so liking Vampire. I had heard it was a buggy as heck game? Should I really spend the time and money to hunt it down (going to need something else to whittle my time now that I'm not getting FOBOS)?
Darth Drabek Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 in brief...why is so many people so liking Vampire. I had heard it was a buggy as heck game? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> People like it because it's a very good game with great dialogue, well thought-out characters and some really fun quests. Other people like it because of the bleak goth-friendly setting, but you can take that or leave it. You might have to take some precautions to get it to run right (it's a RAM hog), but it's worth it. My system is strictly middle-of-the-road, and after I patched and disabled several graphic tweaks it ran fine with no bugs. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
Volourn Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 If you can get past some of the worst combat ever, and its inherent bugginess; you will find BL to be a great game. Fantastic dialogue (mostly), great characters, good role-playing, a decent story and an atmosphere second to none; BL is well worth playing. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Slowtrain Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 If you can get past some of the worst combat ever, and its inherent bugginess; you will find BL to be a great game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I love the combat. Its the best part of the game. I played through as all the different clans just to see how many ways there were to kill your enemies. The atmosphere and dialogue is good to. Not too much dialogue either. Just a good amount without bogging the show down. And there's also bloodboil. I'm so easy to please. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.
6 Foot Invisible Rabbit Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 If you are curious just rent the game and be done with it. Harvey
BicycleOfDeath Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I like the isometric, fantasy, "beat'em up" games. It's kind of like diablo, except that your hand doesn't get tired from clicking. The controls are a lot better. If you're curious and it's only $5, buy it. It's cheaper than renting it in most cases. Stand Your Convictions and You Will Walk Alone.
trulez Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 FOBOS was a fun game. How can someone lose so much credibility in so few words, is beyond me. If I ever need advice on what game to buy it's certainly not going to be you that I listen to. FOT was actually a game, with story and some good dialogue. FOBOS is a steaming pile that I wouldn't touch with a 10' pole.
mkreku Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel was an average game. It was made using a great engine, had good graphics and an extremely pleasing setting. To me. Unfortunately, it was also not Fallout, it was badly written (with some of the most pathetic characters ever) and strictly linear. It did provide a few hours of fun in co-op though. And saying that someone loses credibility for liking a game that you don't like is stupid, at best. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!

Just because you're a bit thinner than your even fatter mum it doesn't mean you're in excellent physical shape, if you could fit through the door and view the normal people you'd notice that cheeseburger boy. Squid suck.
