The Eels are one of my main reasons to dislike censorship in music. Most of these are beautifully written songs with catchy hooks and meaningful lyrics, but a lot of them are censored because... what? Someone uses a cussword which in the context of the song completely makes sense?

 

"It's A Mother****er" is especially glaring because George W. Bush personally attacked Mark Everett for writing obscene songs. You do not call a song a man wrote feeling empty because he lost his entire family (which Mark Everett did) 'obscene'. You just don't. If you do, that makes you the most horrible sob in the world.
