yes, I installed the offical patch 1.2. Ye of little faith.

I figured out what triggers crashes, seems to be feeding that does it. I think...for some reason...it might be feeding from the front. Dunno for sure.

It hasn't been a problem in L.A. yet, tho it happened with some regular occurance in Santa Monica.

Santa Monica? Did it happen down the alley by the hospital and the Asylum?

It might be possible he has a bad install I've read a poor install will cause all sorts of problems.

 

Apparently it happens to 10% of all installations.

The area that I mention sometimes makes the game crash on me if I move my character too fast there epecially if its raining.

Will the latest patch help with slowdowns? Or does it just help rectify bugs and crashes?

Bugs and crashes. Slowdowns is the result of a memory leak. Having a 1G or more of memory will make the game playable.

As for slowdowns and crashes, after the patch, it rarely crashed and with 2gb, my gaming sessions were rarely long enough to experience them.

 

What I did notice though, was that if I changed the resolution to anything above 800x600 there were specific places it would slow to a crawl (and stay there)

Anyone tried the character edit thing yet?

Could I make a Malkavian (looks, talks and ppl react to you as one) and just change a Discipline? What would happen in the tutorial where you need to use each of your Disciplines?

Does anyone know how to fix a compression error when trying to install?

From what I've read: Yes.

 

As for the Tutorial? Dunno.

I remember there was a fan patch that skipped the tutorial.

 

If the game was designed well, the tutorial is based on your disciplines though, not on your class.

I figured it out tho. Twasn't hard.

 

I am REAL sick of fighting the hoppy guys (now there are big guys that fire green skulls). It's not hard, just sick of wandering about the sewers. The game has been a breeze as a whole so far, that "blood boost" or whatever pretty much owns (as previously noted)

I ahven't played the PnP, but Blood Buff definitely seems like the "in case you didn't really make a combat oriented character" skill. It's ridiculously useful.

 

The sewers were extreme for the amount of combat. I don't really care for that part of the game either.

Those little anklebiters weren't that bad. Surprisingly they're easy to kill with your fists.

 

Even without a blood buff.

The Headrunners? Those things freaked me out.
