Jumjalum Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 (edited) Hi, I just read about this site that has vids of speed runs through popular games and thought you might be interested, there are some pretty cool items on display. Morrowind in 7 and a half minutes is insane, Fallout in 9 minutes and BG in half an hour were fun. I haven't looked at the console sections yet. Edited April 23, 2006 by Jumjalum We now bring you live footage from the World Championship Staring Final.
Dark_Raven Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Sounds lame. What fun is playing a game in such a short amount of time? Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
metadigital Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 It's a different way to play a game: why are you being so judgemental? The only way to achieve a good quick run is to play the game many, many times. It's just another way a fan can express their enjoyment of the game. There's one for the original half-Life, too, that takes about half an hour ... and they use the mines as (potentially deadly) stepping stones to jump past a lot of "Surface Tension". Bokishi Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Not lame. And I saw the HL2 one a while back. The shortcuts he used were incredible. Current 3DMark

Dark_Raven Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Just do god mode or cheat, same thing. Get to the ending quickly. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
kirottu Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Just do god mode or cheat, same thing. Get to the ending quickly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, that would be doping. This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.
Jumjalum Posted April 23, 2006 Author Posted April 23, 2006 But it's like trying to get the best time in the 100 metres, you wouldn't suggest they use a car. We now bring you live footage from the World Championship Staring Final.
Bokishi Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 No it isn't. Part of the speed thing is doing it fast without cheating. Anyone can noclip throguh a level, but try running through it and evading stuff @ fast speed. Current 3DMark
Dark_Raven Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Yeah just spawn yourself to the game ending area. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Surreptishus Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 people did hitman 2 and 3 in approx 30 min? I must worship them.
Bokishi Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Morrowind in 7 minutes <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I admit that sounds a bit far fetched. Current 3DMark
metadigital Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Morrowind in 7 minutes <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I admit that sounds a bit far fetched. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nah, I've seen the video. What the dude did was just make and take loads of potions for intelligence and fatigue, until his PC had about a thousand points in each, then went and grabbed the hammer-thing (without the special gauntlet to prevent the enormous loss of fatigue) and the goes to the end-boss and smacks him with the hammer a few times. Darque Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 So he cheated? there's NO way to have that many potions right off of the boat
Hurlshort Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Gabrielle is just being herself...err, I mean Dark Raven.
metadigital Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 So he cheated? there's NO way to have that many potions right off of the boat <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No he didn't cheat, he ran to a place where he stole an expert mortar and pestle etc (the tree village, I think it was) and used mushrooms and whatnots to make the potions.
