When violent I play females. Kipling being correct and all that. My favourite of all time being Silence, the shortsword magekiller and later Lady of Murder.

When non-violent I tend to play males.

Females can be just as violent as males, and visa versa. I don't see why gender should make a difference except in terms of personality and whatnot. Not in capablity. (unless we take "intuition" into account...)

HK47: Commentary: It is not possible to destroy the master. It is suggested that you run while my blasters warm, meatbags.

Bastila to Revan: You are easily the vainest, most arrogant man I have ever met!

Canderous to Bastila: Insults? Maybe if your master had trained your lightsaber to be as quick as your tongue you could have escaped those Vulkars, you spoiled little Jedi princess!

i am just saying that men are more prone to violent behavior and rash thinking. whereas females are more emotional and less likely to kill everone. and as to why i would have a violent male character and no violent female character is because i put females on a pedestal. Above us males. because they are the fairer sex and we (men are ment to protect them..................

There is one predictor that, if used, can help eliminate over 99% of violent crime. Lock up all males.

On a slightly different tack, men (presumably due to innate strength bias) usually use bludgeoning-type offences. Females will use a knife and either John Wayne Bobbit, or stab.

My own experience is that females are more cold-blooded ...

Hell hath no furry like a woman's wrath ring a bell? We can be very evil and violent when we want to. It must the all of those soft feminine emotions we have that turn into their polar opposite.

That we are, speaking of which...

Most of my fantasy pnp characters are female drow, if DM allows it. I have one who is neutral but her homicidal tendencies come out when she is greatly angered. It in her drow blood after all. Another drow character is chaotic evil, she is quite the insane one. Too much exposure to nasty magic warped her mind.

As long as you don't rollplay Chaotic Evil as Chaotic Stupid, suicidally running headlong into every combat opportunity to commit homicide as broadly and deeply as possible. That's just silly.

It does, but I've yet to encounter it to that extreme. I've seen several males that are capable of matching females in terms of wrath* (to my knowledge). It's going to vary of course, from individual from individual and different factors, of course.

And I don't believe for a second that those "soft feminine emotions" turn females into polar opposites. I think its a conscious choice. They get pissy/pissed when someone or something sets them off. Various triggers and all that. Of course, being male, I'm bias. My point is, if driven far enough I don't think gender matters all that much. They may have different ways of displaying it, but I think that wrath is pretty much the same if said person is truly of that mindset/mentality. I'm not saying for a moment that a woman can't be ruthless; she can be. I'm just saying that I think males have the potential to match it if they truly wish it.

*(or are just as cold-blooded when they choose might be a better way of phrasing it)

Except that, as a general rule, males have an "easy out" by simply overpowering their opponents (possibly with surprise). As this teactic doesn't require a lot of planning, it does not encourage the sort of long-term grudge-holding revenge-is-a-dish-best-served-cold thinking that behooves the "fairer sex" to indulge in ... :p

Indeed women are well known for their thinking and acting out nasty revenge on an unsuspecting male. Ask my ex.

We can be cool and calm and look at you with a neutral expression and deep down we are thinking of ways of seperating you from one painful limb dismemberment to the next.

I don't care how evile females are. They still deserve the utmost respect and compassion. And should be protected by men. not battered by them...........................
