Jorian Drake Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Gabrielle, you are sooooooooooooo dirrrty! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> :D
Ewen Brown Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Read that line again. I stated monetarily wise. Example: If JE cost $30 million to make, and it only earned $20 million; I seriously doubt businesses like BIO and MS would consider it a FINANCIAL SUCCESS. It is, afterall,,a completely different issue than someone working in their garage. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i was talking monetarily wise as well, you seem to not understand that's exactly the same, the fact is that by this standard the games financial success can technically have no relevance to any finances at all Winterwind
Sargallath Abraxium Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 ...hehehe...the dense dwarf got this thread 17 pages wit' nigh but PowerWords Lies, Myth, an' Innuendo...Volo fer de win...hehehe... ...WHO LUVS YA, BABY!!... 1 A long, long time ago, but I can still remember, How the Trolling used to make me smile. And I knew if I had my chance, I could egg on a few Trolls to "dance", And maybe we'd be happy for a while. But then Krackhead left and so did Klown; Volo and Turnip were banned, Mystake got run out o' town. Bad news on the Front Page, BIOweenia said goodbye in a heated rage. I can't remember if I cried When I heard that TORN was recently fried, But sadness touched me deep inside, The day...Black Isle died. For tarna, Visc, an' the rest o' the ol' Islanders that fell along the way
Judge Hades Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 The only method I use for determining a game to be a financial success is if it made 2 times the money used to produce the game.

Not too many games are financial successes I guess.

Not too many games are financial successes I guess. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Most games aren't. Most publishers rely on a strategy of releasing as many games as possible with the expectation that atleast a few of them will be huge hits. They hope those hits will offset the losses taken in by the games that don't sell well. A pity. alanschu Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 (edited) I didn't say that most games are financial successes. I'm well aware of how the industry works. His criterion just cuts even more away from the list of "financially" successful games though. Edited February 18, 2006 by alanschu

Dark_Raven Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 I think we can finally lay this one to rest. Death by large dosages of spam. R.I.P. Memento Mori. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
