Read that line again. I stated monetarily wise.

Example: If JE cost $30 million to make, and it only earned $20 million; I seriously doubt businesses like BIO and MS would consider it a FINANCIAL SUCCESS. It is, afterall,,a completely different issue than someone working in their garage.

i was talking monetarily wise as well, you seem to not understand that's exactly the same, the fact is that by this standard the games financial success can technically have no relevance to any finances at all

A long, long time ago, but I can still remember,
How the Trolling used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance, I could egg on a few Trolls to "dance",
And maybe we'd be happy for a while.
But then Krackhead left and so did Klown;
Volo and Turnip were banned, Mystake got run out o' town.
Bad news on the Front Page,
BIOweenia said goodbye in a heated rage.
I can't remember if I cried
When I heard that TORN was recently fried,
But sadness touched me deep inside,
The day...Black Isle died.

For tarna, Visc, an' the rest o' the ol' Islanders that fell along the way

The only method I use for determining a game to be a financial success is if it made 2 times the money used to produce the game.

Nothing like pulling out arbitrary rulings.

Not too many games are financial successes I guess.

Most games aren't. Most publishers rely on a strategy of releasing as many games as possible with the expectation that atleast a few of them will be huge hits. They hope those hits will offset the losses taken in by the games that don't sell well.

A pity.

I didn't say that most games are financial successes. I'm well aware of how the industry works.

His criterion just cuts even more away from the list of "financially" successful games though.
