Fallout 2 Query

Musopticon?

The only time I ever reload is when something happens I can't fix normally... like the time poor Imoen turned into meaty chunks due to a backstab at that undrground place in BG 1

I think when your party dies is a good reason to reload.

Well, if you're whole party dies you're ususally forced to :)

If it's just a member or two you can just have them raised ;)

Yup, the dreaded meaty chucks syndrome :(

Though it was really cool when Kivan scored a crit on that demon in durlag's tower and made it explode :D

That was a noble deed.

Kivan was awesome. I too had him in my party during that Mega Dungeon Crawl.

Why must we emulate the ways of the Dwarven Folk by crawling about these warrens?

Kivan is a mini-minsc :D

Not quite as strong, but not shackled with a really weak mage :(

Plus he makes a wicked stealth sniper/mad bomber :)

Boots of speed, rings of fire resistance and lots of arrows of fireballs means never having to say you're sorry :)

I prefered Imoen or Alora as a thief. One thing BG1 had going for it, is the many npcs that could join your party.

I found it hard to change NPCs later along in BG. I had spent too much time with the characters. The party in my first BG game was composed of Imoen, Jaheira, Khalid, Minsc and Dynaheir. I kept the same party after the Gnoll stronghold bit.

Also, I always reloaded when one of my NPCs died, no matter what. I had to go through all the battles without losing a single character. Resurrection felt like cheating.

Alora a better pick pocket. Sounds like a racial sterotype against halflings.

I never played thieves to their full potential. They are used as trap finders or picking locks. Otherwise they are a regular full combat party memeber.

That's why I had Minsc but not Dynaheir. This trick works for any of the "paired" NPC's, like Dynaheir/Minsc, Jaheira/Khalid, Xzar/Monty, Eldoth/Skie:

1. Send the "reject" member of the pair into a room where you never intend to go back in again (where the cursor actually changes to a 'open door' icon), whilst leaving everyone else outside.

2. Double click on your PC's character portrait to shift back outside.

3. Reform the party, removing the undesired member. Since they won't have an opportunity to actually speak with you, they'll never call back their buddy either! :D

Imoen is irreplacable

Replaceable with Alora. :x I made a BG2 mod that brings her into that game.

Alora made Immy sound depressing.

Hop skip to it!

Happy, happy, joy, joy!

When I made the mod to bring Alora into BG2 I wrote out new dialogues for her. It was a challenge to me because I'm not a overtly happy person like she is, but I did it non of the less.
