Darth Drabek Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 MPE - Parasites of paradise Edit: And now it's MPE - Blood of Heroes(Megadeth cover) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They never die! I always thought Youthanasia was sort of treading water for them. However, I recently picked up the remastered version of Rust in Peace and it blew me away. I had that sucker on tape back in the day, and lemme tell ya, they cleaned it up good. I don't know why Dave is so bitter. Rust in Peace is better than any CD Metallica released. :waits for Jaymez and Larz to hunt me down: baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs

Darth Drabek Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Master of Puppets! Master of Puppets! Master of Puppets! Hello. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You know, I almost wrote "With the exception of Master of Puppets," being as that's the consensus opinion and then I thought to myself, "No, I really believe Rust in Peace is better." Baley Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 (edited) Uh, they make the Beatles sound heterogeneous. And Mustaine is whiny right-wing born-again bitch. Can we get back to mourning McLean? The Velvet Underground - Lonesome Cowboy Bill Edited April 3, 2006 by Baley
Darth Drabek Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 (edited) Leave Ringo out of this! Yes, they have been beating a dead horse for their last few albums, but RIP was great stuff! It was the apex of their creativity (their MOP, if you will). The riffs were fresh, the solos were ripping and Nick Menza was still in the band. And the only McLean I know is the guy who wrote "American Pie" and "Vincent." Care to enlighten? Edit: Nevermind. He was a "pillar of the jazz community," I guess. Played with Mingus and Miles Davis among others. I think I've heard some of the albums he's played on, but I didn't know who he was. Darth Drabek Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Thanks, just checked it out. I'll have to look for his stuff at the library next time I'm there. The jazz head at work let me borrow a Steve Coleman and Five Elements CD last week. I'm liking it a lot so far. I don't know where he falls in the jazz heirarchy, but it seems good to me. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
