Laozi Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Neil Young -- Horse With No Name People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
the dude Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Steve Goodman is a great singer-songwriter... got into him through that song he did with John Prine, "Souvenirs." Guy knew how to write a great country song. Well, I'll stick around as long as you will let me You know I never minded standing in the rain You don't have to call me "Darlin," darlin, But you never even call me by my name <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yessir...he also co-wrote that song with John Prine, self-titled, "Every Country song they had ever heard..." anyway, speaking of John Prine Sam Stone- John Prine words are weightless here on earth because they're free

Laozi Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 (edited) Spoon, are they really any good? NOFX -- I'm All Out of Angst So I'm off to pakistan, learn the laws of islam Fundamemtalism, forget that rock-n-roll No cigarettes, no drink, in fact It's difficult to think about getting laid When you don't even get to see her face I'm not insane Edited March 1, 2006 by Laozi People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. Darth Drabek Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 I don't have their latest album, but Girls Can Tell is pretty good. They use a lot of bass and keyboards added to simple drumbeats to anchor their songs with a lot of rhythm. It's solid indie-rock with a jazzy feel. Cool songs. BTW All Outta Angst is one of my favorite NOFX songs. No steppin' out 'til Spring Ya know it's difficult to sing When it's 23 below (and that's during the day) I'm not insane!
