Child of Flame Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 We're all in big trouble. This basically means we have to worry about n00bs suing us guys.
Musopticon? Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 In one existing case: "But the courts ruled the law applied only to obscene material" I wouldn't worry much. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
Child of Flame Posted January 10, 2006 Author Posted January 10, 2006 It's too late for me, my name will be James Thomas Griffith III everywhere. Save yourselves before it's too late rest of the world!
Oerwinde Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 I'm canadian, doesn't apply to me. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
BattleCookiee Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 I just hope they don't allow "Task Forces" to take people from other countries into custody for violating this law... Anyways, once again, you Yanks are screwed... But the US has a rich history of making utterly crap laws, as you can also see here
Surreptishus Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Why the hell are you a mod if you flamebait regarding the US at every chance you get?
Child of Flame Posted January 10, 2006 Author Posted January 10, 2006 Oh, I doubt it'll be enforced about...never. But still. I almost want to change my username to my overly long and formal sounding legal name just for satire's sake.
Volourn Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 "But the US has a rich history of making utterly crap laws, as you can also see here" I seriously doubt the US is the only country with ridiculous or stupid laws past or present or future. "Anyways, once again, you Yanks are screwed..." Not as bad as Europe was some 60-70 years ago... Or the ME is curently. Or Africa is thanks to good 'ol Europe... Or the Natives of North Amerikans thanks to our European Ancestors. You see, you arne't the only one who can throw out anti x country bigoted comments. And, the good thing is I'm not even Amerikan. Sad thing is I'm stuck being French! R00fles! " (w00t) P.S. This law is no doubt stupid, and will be ahrd pressed to win a vcitory in the courts... like most stupid laws in your silly link that even the site owner there doesn't even know if they're real laws or not. Ha. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.

Weiser_Cain Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Hahaha, if I go to jail because of the internet I'm going to kill everybody involved when I get out. Anyway this is a stupid law as it violates the first amendment, this law will be thrown out the first time it sees a judge. Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (

Commissar Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Yup. I don't really see this thing standing up under judicial review, myself. It's also something of a catch-22, as anyone who tries to bring charges under it marks themselves as clearly deserving of whatever emotional pain they've suffered at the hands of the internet.
BattleCookiee Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 [snap] With the "you Yanks are screwed" I meant the American Board Visitors, no need for unneccessary and totally unrelated comparissons...
SteveThaiBinh Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Isn't there some law that unenforcable laws are unconstitutional? If not, there should be. It is fascinating and amusing to see how the US manages its law-making, as follows: Sen. Arlen Specter, a Pennsylvania Republican, and the section's other sponsors slipped it into an unrelated, must-pass bill to fund the Department of Justice. However, I suspect this sort of rubbish is happening in every democracy. The only difference in the US is that it happens in the open, not behind closed doors. Weiser_Cain Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Oh you can enforce this law we just happen to have guaranteed freedom of speech that trumps this silly little law that was probably snuck in somewhere *reads the article snippet*, see told yah. Neo Nazi's can march but I can't mock in peace? I think not. Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (
Kaftan Barlast Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Do you citizens of the united states(Im on 2/3 warns so I have to behave and not use slang) have like a single book with all your laws in or do you have an entire shelf of it? Nartwak Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 State, County, Federal, etc. There's a lot of laws. We've got libraries.
Gabrielle Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Laws were made to be broken. I think someone needs a dirt nap.

Nick_i_am Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Arn't some of the sillier state laws in the US to do with there being pressure on some states back in the 30s or so that every state must have a cirtain number of it's own regional laws. Which is why things like 'It is illegal to shoot a whale out of the window of a moving car except with a harpoon' and 'It is illegal to sell peanuts in Lee County after sundown on Wednesday' ever come to pass. SteveThaiBinh Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 You can mock all that you would like. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's the Obsidian forum motto. The funny thing is that when you see a law, for example, banning driving while blindfolded, you know the law was probably made because somebody was driving blindfolded.
