213374U Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 (edited) I was just browsing through the videos in the K2 folder, and I came across a sequence that depicts Citadel Station being blown to pieces. It's the file called "MalMov06.bik", and it's apparently part of the Sith attack on Telos plot. I thought I had done every possible thing in this game, but perhaps I was wrong. So now, is there any way to destroy Citadel Station (or let the Sith do it), or is this video just some more cut content? Edited December 18, 2005 by 213374U - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
DeathScepter Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 from what I do understand, it is a partof the cut content. So it is a NO.
Elven6 Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Hey could u post the video up there i lost mine
213374U Posted December 18, 2005 Author Posted December 18, 2005 Well, considering the video is some 12 Mb in size, I don't think I could post it. I'm not sure it would be allowed, anyway. Here's a pic, though. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
Judge Hades Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Okay, they need to put that option back in the Restoration. LETS DESTROY MORE PLANETS!
Gabrielle Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Okay, they need to put that option back in the Restoration. LETS DESTROY MORE PLANETS! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cool lets kill Telos for a second time.
Sikon Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 This movie was added in the multimedia patch. It's not in the original game.
BattleCookiee Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 And therefore there are no triggers ingame to activate this movie. Even putting all moviesshown=255 won't give this one in the "Movies" tab of the Main menu...
Bulgarian Jedi Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 So the only way to get this movie is download the high-quality media patch. How big is this patch anyway and is it worth getting? DAWUSS Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 This movie was added in the multimedia patch. It's not in the original game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So that explains why it vanished like that... 213374U Posted December 18, 2005 Author Posted December 18, 2005 This movie was added in the multimedia patch. It's not in the original game. But it doesn't make much sense to put in a movie in the patch that wasn't in the original game... does it? Well, at least we know they intented for Telos to be destroyed at some point, it would have been neat to have that option. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
Musopticon? Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 It could also have been a part of a flashback. Wasn't Telos bombed at some point? kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Petay Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Telos was bombed at some point, I don't understand why a video is in the second game though, unless it was a flashback, which would probably be unlikely since the Exile isn't mentioned having been on Telos before. I don't really understand why they even put this video in here, if it's not going to be used!? Mystary....
213374U Posted December 18, 2005 Author Posted December 18, 2005 It could also have been a part of a flashback. Wasn't Telos bombed at some point? No, it can't be. Telos was bombed, but what you see in the video is Citadel Station being destroyed. Citadel Station was built to repair the damage done by the first bombing, so it can't be the original attack. Probably they just grabbed all the videos they had for K2 and packed them for the patch without even checking if they had been used in the game or not... - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
DAWUSS Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 What else does that patch add? DAWUSS Dawes ain't too bright. 213374U Posted December 18, 2005 Author Posted December 18, 2005 Other than higher quality versions of the movies? Well... nothing. There's also the high quality music patch, but that's an independent download. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
Bulgarian Jedi Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Really? I thought the improved media patch benefited both the movies and the music in the game. Нека Силата винаги бъде с теб! BattleCookiee Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Well, at least we know they intented for Telos to be destroyed at some point, it would have been neat to have that option. According to rumor you could side with Nihilus, given said movie as result...
213374U Posted December 21, 2005 Author Posted December 21, 2005 According to rumor you could side with Nihilus, given said movie as result... That's no rumor. The whole dialogue is still there, but apparently it was cut as well. It's still weird that they would put the movie in the multimedia patch, when it wasn't in the original game. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
BattleCookiee Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 I wonder why, if all the convo is indeed included, the people who make the Restoration Project, say in their forum that there is no trace of what might to happen for this movie...

No idea. Don't take my word for it, though. If you have KotOR Tool, go to ERFs -> Modules -> 852NIH_dlg.erf -> 852nih.dlg. As you can see, at some point they intended for you to have the chance to join Nihilus as his apprentice, and kill Visas to prove yourself to him. It would make sense that Telos was destroyed after this, as there would be nobody to stop the Sith. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
