Laozi Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Tripoli- by Pinback Its hard to decide if this or Syracuse is their better song. You got to like a band that will use two bass players People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.

SteveThaiBinh Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 I'm listening to a radio tribute to the great John Peel and his musical tastes, which means I'm listening to the most unusual and eclectic mix of sounds you're ever likely to encounter. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Meshugger Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Opeth - Blackwater Park "Some men see things as they are and say why?""I dream things that never were and say why not?"- George Bernard Shaw"Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man."- Friedrich Nietzsche "The amount of energy necessary to refute bull**** is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it." - Some guy
Darth Drabek Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 I took Darth Drabeks suggestion and downloaded 'DJ DJ' by the Transplants. I think the guy with the rant in the middle sounds more like Adam Sandler now that I've had a few days to digest it. Ted Leo-Since U Been Gone <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Haha... yeah, he's got some really grade-schoolish rants all across the album. "You better hope you XXXXing miss me if you catch me drinking whiskey." That just blows my mind. " But what I'm talking about is...... TED LEO! YEAH! (w00t) Seriously, the man is fantastic. I saw him in Cleveland a few months ago for 10 bucks. 10 freakin bucks. He's got three full-lengths that are better than most of the stuff I own and he's playing shows for 10 bucks. At least they were turning people away at the door, so people are catching on. One of my favorite Ted Leo songs: Biomusicology Had we never come across the vastness of pavement The barrenness of waves and the grayness of the sea Never lost, and never been misguided We'd have never reached seas so shining baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
Kor Qel Droma Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Actually DD the only reason I downloaded the Ted Leo song was because you've mentioned him before. And SUBG was the only song I recognized. Next time I'll try Biomusicology. L7-Pretend We're Dead , and previously Pinback-Syracuse Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
Pope Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Basement Jaxx on my mp3-player @ work I never quite understood why these guys (and other electronic music) never got popular in the US. It seems the entire market is dominated by hiphop/R&B, the genres that happen to disgust me the most.
